Servants of Christ Baptist Church will hold its annual Ladies Night Out at 6:30 p. m. with guest speaker Diane Nickels who will also provide special music. Friday, Dec. 6
Macedonia United Methodist Church, under the leadership of Bucky Chisholm, will present its Christmas cantata, “Gloria Deo – A Service of Lessons and Carols” by Benjamin Harlan, at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served immediately following the performance in the church social hall. Saturday, Dec. 7
The Louisa County Sunday School Union executive meeting will be held at 10 a.m. at Mt. Gilliam Baptist Church (Old Site). Superintendents should bring a copy of current Sunday School literature. The church is located at 4641 Chalklevel Rd., Louisa.
Sunday, Dec. 8
Mt. Gilliam Baptist Church (Old Site) will celebrate the first anniversary of its pastor, the Rev. Donald King Sr. The morning service will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Patricia Ellis delivering the message, followed by lunch. The afternoon service will begin at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Bruce Jones, pastor of the First Baptist Church, and his congregation, as the special guests. The church is located at 4641 Chalklevel Rd., Louisa.
Wayland Baptist Church will welcome the Rev. Leo Coles, of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Montpelier, as guest speaker for the 11 a.m. worship service. The church is located at 1228 Oakland Rd., Louisa.
Shady Grove Baptist Church will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its pastor, the Rev. Reginald T. Cleveland at 11 a.m. The Rev. Harold Solomon will be the guest preacher followed by lunch at 1 p.m. The 3 p.m. celebration service will be led by Pastor M. Randell Williams who will be accompanied by the Ebenezer Baptist Church Choir, ushers and congregation. The church is located at 3384 Oakland Church Rd., Gum Spring.
Canaan Soul Saving Station Church will hold its Christmas program at 3 p.m. The Rev. Kimberly Fortune, of Galilee Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker. The church is located at 6580 Venable Rd., Kents Store.
Louisa Christian Church’s youth group, consisting of 32 members from age four through 21, will perform the play “The Tie that Binds” during the 11 a.m. worship service. The play was written and directed by the team of Eleanor and David Perkinson of Louisa Christian Church. A second performance will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. A light reception will be held following each performance. The church is located at 104 Elm St., Louisa.
Saturday, Dec. 14
Macedonia United Methodist Church will present a “Living Nativity” from 6 until 8 p.m. on the church grounds. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served in the church fellowship hall. The church is located at 17 Byrd Mill Rd., Louisa.
Mt. Hope Baptist Church will celebrate “Christmas Around The World” depicting how Jesus is celebrated in different countries on Christmas at 4 p.m. This will be an amazing evening of fellowship, great singing and food from countries such as Jamaica, Mexico, Germany, Switzerland, France and the United States. The Traveling Jubilees, of Beaverdam, will be the guest singing group. The church is located at 5501 Paynes Mill Rd., Bumpass.
Sunday, Dec. 15
Mechanicsville Baptist Church will present its Christmas cantata at 11 a.m. followed by refreshments. The church is located at 10200 Louisa Rd., Gordonsville.
Kirk O’Cliff Presbyterian Church will go Christmas Caroling in the Kirk neighborhood at 1 p.m. The church is located at 16420 Monrovia Rd., Mineral.
South Anna Baptist Church will hold its Christmas service at 7 p.m. The church is located at 9071 Cross County Rd., Mineral.
St. John’s Chapel will hold a candlelight lesson and carols service at 5 p.m. The chapel is located at the intersection of East Green Springs Rd. and East Jack Jouett Rd. in the Green Springs National Landmark Historic District. There will be a covered dish supper following the service. Please bring a dish to share.
