Valentine’s Day is coming early to  those on the list receiving flowers from their sweethearts through Ye Olde Towne Flower Shoppe in Mineral.

“Flower deliveries will be done today due to the impending snow storm,” Roy Lee Payne, owner of the flower shop said on Wednesday.

Since the special day falls on Friday and forecasters were predicting heavy snowfall from Winter Storm Pax in Louisa County beginning Wednesday and lasting well into Thursday, Feb. 13, Payne felt it was best to deliver them earlier rather than later.

The wire service also agreed that it would be better to fill the orders in advance, lest they disappoint someone, he said.

“I stayed here last night and called every order,” Payne said. “Altogether, we had well over 100 orders, including walk-ins.”

The bad news for procrastinators though is that orders were blocked on Wednesday morning. So, for those who had not pre-ordered flowers for their loved ones – it’s too late.  However, walk-in orders will be filled.
