A Black History program will be held at County Line Baptist Church beginning with dinner at 4:30 p.m. followed by the program at 6:00 p.m. The church is located at 4070 County Line Rd., Kents Store.
The Mineral Spirits will host its 10th annual gospel sing at 4 p.m. in the Family Life Center of Mineral Baptist Church. Groups scheduled to perform, in addition to the Mineral Spirits, include: John Bindel, True Spirit Bluegrass Gospel Band, SONRISE Bluegrass Gospel Band and Sanctified Power. The program will continue until approximately 9 p.m. with door prizes and a drawing for a handmade afghan by Becky Weakley. Food will also be available throughout the evening with proceeds benefitting the Mineral Baptist Church youth summer camps. The church is located at 51 Louisa Ave., Mineral. Sunday, Feb. 23
Union Baptist Church will hold a Black History praise and worship service at 3 p.m. Various praise teams from surrounding churches, will bring blessings in praise and dance. The church is located at 1546 Vawter Corner Rd., Louisa.
Shady Grove Baptist Church will celebrate Black History Month with talent from around the community. The theme will be “It’s good to go back to the old time way.” Worship will begin at 10 a.m. followed by a soul food luncheon. The church is located at 3384 Oakland Church Rd., Gum Spring.
Wayland Baptist Church will welcome Elder William Coleman of Live Life Ministries, Gordonsville, as guest speaker for 11 a.m. worship service. The church is located at 1228 Oakland Rd., Louisa.
St. Thomas Baptist Church will hold a Black History celebration at 3 p.m. with guest speaker Minister Orlando Morris of Living Water Fellowship, Louisa. Guests are asked to dress in old-fashioned attire. Morning worship will be at 11 a.m. followed by an old-fashioned meal at 1:15 p.m. The church is located at 1567 Bumpass Rd., Bumpass. The Usher Ministry of Ebenezer Baptist Church, of Mineral, will celebrate Black History with a program at 3 p.m. The Rev. Alex Shelley of Mt Olivet Baptist Church, Montpelier, will delivery a sermonette. Joyce and Arlean of the Coles Sisters, Chosen and Marvin Shelton and his brothers will render the music. First Baptist Church will hold its annual Black History program during its 10:45 a.m. worship service. Guest speakers will include Peyton McCoy of Richmond and Ayo Morton who is a spoken-word artist. A soul food repast will follow the service. The church is located at 102 Meadow Ave., Louisa.
Thessalonia Baptist Church Youth Ministry will hold a Black History program and soul food dinner at 3 p.m. The church is located at 278 Old County Rd., Mineral.

Shady Grove Baptist Church will celebrate Black History Month with the production of “Evolution of a Black Girl” at 2 p.m. Tickets are a $10 donation. St. Mark Baptist Church will observe its annual Deacons, Deaconess and Trustees day at 3 p.m. The Rev. Stevie Trent Sr., pastor of Second Union Baptist Church of Goochland, will be the guest preacher. His choir, ushers, and congregation will accompany him. The Rising Sun Baptist Church Men’s Chorus will celebrate its anniversary at 3 p.m. Scheduled to appear are the T.A. Lacy Gospel Choir of Dinwiddie, the Baptist Union Baptist Church Men’s Chorus of Buckingham, the Soul seekers of Mechanicsville; the Little River Baptist Church Choir of Mineral, the great-grandchildren of the late Deacon Eugene Shelton and the Christian Gentlemen of Fluvanna. St. Mark Baptist Church will be host a joint Ash Wednesday service with Shady Grove Baptist Church at St. Mark Baptist Church, 4596 Factory Mill Road, Maidens. The program will begin at 7 p.m. with Pastor Reginald Cleveland of Shady Grove Baptist Church as the guest preacher. He will be accompanied by his choir, ushers and congregants.
