The John E. Thomasson Charitable Foundation, Inc. will sponsor its annual Gospel Gala fundraiser at 4 p.m. at Rising Sun Baptist Church. Gospel singers and groups featured on the program include: Sis. Marie Trice, Joyce and Arlene of the Coles Sisters, Chosen, The Testifiers, The Faith Redeemers and The Soul Seekers. Proceeds will be used to fund scholarships. If unable to attend, please consider making a donation to the foundation, all gifts are tax deductible. The church is located on Rt. 618 in  Mineral.

 

Pleasant Plain Baptist Church will celebrate the installation of pastor-elect, the Rev. Harold Solomon Sr. at 1 p.m. at Louisa County Middle School, Mineral. The Rev. Dr. Yvonne Jones Bibbs, pastor of Sixth Baptist Church, Richmond, will deliver the word.  She will be accompanied by her church family. The church is located at 675 Lindsay Rd., Gordonsville.

Sunday, March 30

Zion United Methodist Church will hold a Blessing Of The Bikes Sunday during the 11 a.m. worship service. Trinity Baptist Church will hold a fifth Sunday Gospel/Bluegrass sing at 11 a.m.  Music will be provided  by Short Haul. A fellowship dinner will follow the worship service. Bring a dish or two.  The church is located at 135 Mansfield Rd., Mineral.

 

Canaan Soul Saving Station Church will welcome the Rev. Kimberly Fortune of Galilee Baptist Church as guest speaker during the 11:30 a.m. worship service. Music will be rendered by the Christ Crusaders. The church is located at 6580 Venable Rd., Kents Store.

 

Christian Fellowship Union will meet at Watchtower Baptist Church at 10 a.m. The church is located at 375 Pottiesville Rd., Bumpass.

 

A Relay for Life Gospel Concert featuring Faith Redeemers, Sis. Marie Trice, Deacon Fleming Shelton, Gospel Laborers, James Shelton and the New Sensations will be held at 3 p.m.  at Thessalonia Baptist Church, Mineral.  Proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society and is sponsored by Super 6 team. The church is located at 278 Old County Rd., Mineral.

 

The Louisa County Baptist Sunday School Union will hold fifth Sunday service at Mt. Gilliam Baptist Church (Old Site).  Sunday school will begin at 10 a.m. and worship service at 11 a.m. Pastor Donald King Sr. will deliver the word and Mt. Gilliam Youth Choir will render the music.  Lunch will be served following the service.  The church is located at 4641 Chalklevel Rd., Louisa.

Wednesday, April 2

Church of the Incarnation will celebrate Lent by learning about Hunger in America and in particular, hunger in Louisa County, to come to some solutions. The Rev. Deacon Carey Chirico, director of Children’s Ministries and director of Outreach Ministries at St. George’s Episcopal Church, Fredericksburg, will share information about St. George’s food pantry called The Table, the community dinners and the future community garden. Services will be held each Wednesday through April 16 at 7 p.m. The church is located 102 Louisa Ave., Mineral, across from the Mineral Farmers’ Market. For more information, contact the Rev. Watchtower Baptist Church will hold its spring revival April 2 and April 3 with prayer and praise at 7:00 p.m. and worship at 7:30 p.m. The guest preachers will be the Rev. Zion Travelers Baptist Church women’s ministry will host a spring prayer breakfast from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. followed by prayers, praise and worship. The guest speaker will be Minister Dale Bradshaw of Galilee Baptist Church, Louisa. The church is located at 3662 Roundabout Rd., Louisa.

Mt. Hope Baptist Church “Saved By Grace” praise dance ministry will celebrate its sixth anniversary at 3 p.m. The theme for the occasion is “I Have a Dream” and will honor individuals who have contributed to the freedoms and privileges Americans have today through the arts and ministry of dance.
