Saturday, April 5

Zion Travelers Baptist Church women’s ministry will host a spring prayer breakfast from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. followed by prayers, praise and worship. The guest speaker will be Minister Dale Bradshaw of Galilee Baptist Church, Louisa. The church is located at 3662 Roundabout Rd., Louisa.

 

Grace Freewill Baptist Church will hold a soup and sing featuring The Deane’s and Steve Minter. The free soup dinner will begin at 5:00 p.m. and the concert at 6:30 p.m. The church is located at 9495 Poindexter Rd., Louisa. For more information, call Tammy at (540) 748-0232.

 

Mt. Hope Baptist Church “Saved By Grace” praise dance ministry will celebrate its sixth anniversary at 3 p.m. The theme for the occasion is “I Have a Dream” and will honor individuals who have contributed to the freedoms and privileges Americans have today through the arts and ministry of dance. Neighboring churches praise dance ministries will also participate in the celebration. The church is located at 5502 Paynes Mill Rd., Bumpass.

 

Sunday, April 6

Dogwood Baptist Church will hold a dedication and open house for its new fellowship hall from 3 until 5 p.m. The church is located at 5677 New Line Rd., Gum Spring.

 

St. Thomas Baptist Church will be in fellowship with a praise and worship motorcycle group during its 11 a.m. service. Wayland Baptist Church will welcome the Rev. Faye Cooper-Baldwin, of Quioccasion Baptist Church, Henrico, as guest speaker for 11 a.m. worship service.  The church is located at 1228 Oakland Rd., Louisa.

 

Free Union Gospel Church will hold a spring revival April 6 through April 9. Sunday’s speaker will be the Rev. Williams of Emmanuel Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Services Monday through Wednesday will be held at 7:30 p.m. Pastor George Lewis, Mt. Salem Baptist Church, Scottsville, will be the speaker on Monday and Tuesday. Music will be rendered by Mt. Salem Baptist Church Choir on Monday and Second Union Baptist Church Choir, of Goochland, on Tuesday. Wednesday’s speaker will be Elder James Walker of Harvest, Louisa, and music will be rendered by the Walker singers. The church is located at 10378 Louisa Rd., Gordonsville.

 

Monday, April 7

Living Water Fellowship Church will celebrate its 14th church anniversary April 7 through April 11 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Pastor Crawley, Foster Creek Baptist Church, will speak on Tuesday; Elder Comfort, Branch Fork Baptist Church, will speak on Wednesday; Pastor Sharon Roberson, St. Thomas Baptist Church, will speak of Thursday; and Apostle Wingate, Hephzibah PACD Ministries, will speak on Friday. The church is located at 115 Jefferson Hwy., Louisa.

 

Wednesday, April 9

Church of the Incarnation will celebrate Lent by learning about Hunter in America and in particular, hunger in Louisa County, to come to some solutions. Tina Hall of the department of social services will share about various programs available to citizens in the county. Services will be held each Wednesday through April 16 at 7 p.m. The church is located 102 Louisa Ave., Mineral, across from the Mineral Farmers’ Market at (540) 223-2769.

Union Baptist Church will hold a youth revival April 9 through April 11 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. The guest minister will be the Rev. Kimberly Fortune, associate minister of the Galilee Baptist Church, Louisa,. Visiting choirs will render the music. The church is located at 1546 Vawter Corner Rd., Louisa.

 

Saturday, April 12

New Anna Baptist Church will hold its annual prayer breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Evangelist Becky Jackson of New Line Baptist Church will deliver the message. Mt. Garland Baptist Church will host the ordination service for the Rev. Dwain R. Cosby, pastor elect, at 4 p.m. The message will be delivered by the Rev. Sharon Hooker, Trinity Baptist Church, Richmond.  A reception will follow. The church is located at 4000 Buckner Rd., Bumpass.

 

Sunday, April 13

Louisa Christian Church will celebrate the Easter season beginning with a Palm Sunday worship service at 11 a.m. The church is located at 104 Elm Ave. (Rt. 208),  immediately behind the Courthouse in the Town of Louisa.

 

New Line Baptist Church’s Unity Choir will celebrate its 42nd anniversary at 3 p.m. Those scheduled to perform are Mt. Hope Celebration Choir, Tommy Mason and Friends and Tammy Scott. The church is located at 4876 New Line Rd., Gum Spring.
