Kingdom United Ministries will hold its Father’s Day celebration including a worship service at 11 a.m. at Louisa Town Park, followed by food on the grill, fellowship and fun. The park is located at 108 Meadow Ave., Louisa. Dress casual.  For additional information, contact (540) 967-1145.

 

Monday, June 16

The Louisa County Sunday School Union will hold Vacation Bible School Monday, June 16 through Friday, June 20 from 8:30 a. m. until noon for area children at First Baptist Church.  An adult VBS class will be held in the evenings from 7 until 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with the VBS closing and cookout on Friday from 5 until 7 p.m. The theme is “Praise Break—Celebrating the Works of God!” using Psalm 107:2a, Let the redeemed of the Lord say so…) as its basis,.  The daily schedule will include devotion and worship, biblical studies, art and crafts, music, recreational activities, and a wholesome lunch. Little River Baptist Church will host its Vacation Bible School, “Journey with Jesus,” June 16 through June 20 from 9 a.m. until noon.

 

Thursday, June 16

First Bible Way Church will hold its Spring Youth Revival on Thursday, June 19 and Friday, June 20. Guest ministers will include Kimberly Fortune, Galilee Baptist Church, and music rendered by Gailiee Baptist Church Youth Choir on Thursday and Elder Theresa Michie, Pentecostal True Holiness, on Friday. Saturday, June 21

Emmanuel Holiness Church will hold Weird Animal Vacation Bible School–Where Jesus’ love is one of a kind–from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. It will be a day of crafts, games, Bible story skits, snacks and a hot dog lunch. Living Water Fellowship Church will present its third annual youth conference, Purpose Driven: One Heart, One Mind, One Gospel, for young people age 10 through 21. Sunday, June 22

Ebenezer Baptist Church Missionary Ministry will celebrate its anniversary at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Cynthia Houchens, associate pastor of Mt Zion Baptist Church, Monpteplier. Eagle Baptist Choir will render the music. The church is located at 864 Pendleton Road, Mineral.

 

Mt. Gilliam Baptist Church will hold  its Youth/Young Adult Day at 11 a.m. with Aysia Townes as guest speaker.  The afternoon guests will be the Rev. Pantheir Whiting and the Foster Creek Baptist Church Choir and the praise dancers from Galilee Baptist Church. Wayland Baptist Church will welcome the Rev. Arthur Scales, associate pastor of Thessalonian Baptist Church, Mineral, as guest speaker for 11 a.m. worship service.  The church is located at 1228 Oakland Rd., Louisa.

 

Peach Grove Baptist Church will hold its annual Rally Day. The 11:30 a.m. service will be conducted by Pastor Sherman Hudson followed by dinner. The Rev. Kim Fortune of Galilee Baptist Church, Louisa, will be the guest minister for the 3:00 p.m. service. The church is located at 93 Peach Grove Rd., Louisa.

 

Monday, June 23

Shady Grove and St. Mark Baptist churches will hold a combined Vacation Bible School Monday, June 23 through Friday, June 27 at Shady Grove. Dinner will be served nightly at 6:00 p.m. followed by devotion at 6:45 p.m. A preschool and award presentation with a fish fry and cookout fellowship will be held on Friday at 6:30 p.m. The church is located at 3384 Oakland Church Rd., Gum Spring.

Philippi Christian Church will hold its Vacation Bible School Monday, June 23 through Thursday, June 26 starting at 6 p.m. with dinner nightly, followed by a devotional and class time. A commencement program will be held on Friday starting at 6 p.m. followed by dinner. Leaders for the various classes will include Minister Arthur Scales, Minister Rosemary Price, Trustee Joyce Whalen and Sis. Alconia Anderson. The church is located at 7133 Jefferson Hwy., Mineral. Glenora Baptist Church explore Arrow Island during its Vacation bible School with adventurers ages four years through high school June 23 through June 27 from 10 a.m. until noon. Louisa Baptist Church will hold Mega and Jr. Sports Camp June 23 through June 26.  Dinner will begin at 5:15 p.m. and camp will run from 6 until 8 p.m.  Camp is divided into two sections. Mega Sports Camp, is for the kids in rising first through rising sixth grade.  The children will choose from “sports variety” which includes soccer, flag football, basketball, kickball; cheerleading, or Living In the Spotlight Drama. While children learn skills for the various sports, they will discover character-building concepts and gain confidence and self-esteem through this positive and encouraging environment.  Between sports sessions, coaches lead songs, tell stories, and do cool object lessons that help kids realize God’s great love for them.  Jr. Sports Camp is geared towards three-year-olds through rising kindergarten.  This group will have a more traditional VBS feel, but will get to participate in a portion of the Mega Sports Camp too.  To preregister, visit www.louisabaptist.org.  There are two forms that need to be filled out and returned to the church at 305 E. Wednesday, June 25

House of God will hold its revival June 25 through June 28 with guest speaker Bishop Michael Evans Sr. of Brooklyn, New York. Services on Wednesday and Thursday will begin at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8:00 p.m. and Saturday at 1:00 p.m.  Apostle Randolph Ragland’s 54th pastoral anniversary and the church’s 94th anniversary will also be celebrated during this time. Sunday, June 29

The West Louisa Charge of the United Methodist Church will welcome its new pastor, Judy DeBres, for her initial service and a pot luck dinner.  The event will be held at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 3092 Oakland Road, Louisa, with a meet and greet at 10 a.m. and service at 11 a.m. followed by the luncheon. Mt. Zion Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Friends and Family Day with guest speaker the Rev.
