Small Country Campground, located off Byrd Mill Road  in Louisa, opened its 18-hole miniature golf course to those in attendance during a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, June 10, which was the 100th anniversary of the first miniature golf course in history.

Louisa County Chamber of Commerce promoted the ribbon cutting with owners William and Ruth Small.

“In my preliminary plans for the campground, we were going to build a mini golf course,” Bill Small said. “This lady and I have been through thick and thin. We’ve been married 55 years and we just love what we are doing with the campground.”
