Saturday, June 28

The Usher Ministry of Mt. Garland Baptist Church will host “Jeans for Jesus” at 2 p.m.  for youth and the youth within the community in a laid back fashion.  Wear jeans (any form of jean product) and know that the church is a safe haven and God provides comfort.   There will be several guest speakers from all walks of life including education, work force and law enforcement. The message will be delivered by the Rev. Dwain R. Cosby.  Following worship service, there will be a cook-out with games, giveaways and activities for all. The church is located at 4000 Buckner Rd., Bumpass.

 

Jerusalem Baptist Church will celebrate its Deacons and Deaconess Day at 3 p.m.  The guest speakers will be Deaconess Jane Mallory, Deacon Hazel Coles, Deacon Dora Coleman, Deaconess Rachel Dandridge, Deaconess Keisha Diggs and Deacon Linda Lewis.  Deacons and deaconess are asked to wear white.  The church is located at 608 Mansfield Road, Mineral.

 

Sunday, June 29

The West Louisa Charge of the United Methodist Church will welcome its new pastor, Judy DeBres, for her initial service and a pot luck dinner.  The event will be held at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 3092 Oakland Road, Louisa, with a meet and greet at 10 a.m. and service at 11 a.m. followed by the luncheon. If you are unable to attend this service, you are invited to attend any of the regular services held each Sunday: 9 a.m. at Lasley UMC, 393 Lasley Lane; 10 a.m. at Ebenezer UMC; 11 a.m .at Mt. Horeb UMC, 17447 Mallorys Ford Rd .,Gordonsville.

 

Mt. Zion Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Friends and Family Day with guest speaker the Rev. William Moore III, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church with the theme “Church and Community Working Together.” Following the worship service, community-minded activities will take place including food, a Virginia Blood Service bloodmobile and Virginia State Trooper Aaron Wyatt will be on hand to process child identification cards for children between the ages of five and 17.  Persons who wish to “give the gift of life” may contact Alma Stills at (804) 677-4795, or astills@live.com by Wednesday, June 18.  The church is located at 3909 Holly Grove Drive, Bumpass.

 

St. Thomas Baptist Church will hold its annual Missionary Program at 8 a.m. with guest speaker Evangelist Delores Buckner of Evergreen Bible Way Church, Louisa. The Christian Fellowship Union will be held at Wayland Baptist Church at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Edward Moody, pastor of Watch Tower Baptist Church. The church is located at 1228 Oakland Rd., Louisa.

 

Canaan Soul Saving Station Church will welcome the Rev. Virginia Farmer, pastor of Jerusalem Baptist Church as guest speaker during the 11:30 a.m. worship service. Music will be rendered by The Christ Crusaders. The church is located at 6580 Venable Rd., Kents Store.

 

Foster Creek Baptist Church will host a gospel sing featuring the T.A. Lacy Choir of Olive Branch Baptist Church, Petersburg; the Love, Joy Praise Dancers of New Anna Baptist Church, Mineral; and Springfield Baptist Church Ushers’ Ministry at 3 p.m. The church is located at 4028 E. Jack Jouett Rd,. Louisa.

Louisa United Methodist Church will hold a special music service at 10:30 a.m. followed by a potluck meal. The church is located at 100 E. Main St., Louisa.

 

The Louisa County Baptist Sunday School Union will hold its fifth Sunday service at Zion Travelers Baptist Church.  Sunday school will begin at 10 a.m. followed by youth presentation from First Baptist Church.  Pastor Austin Bates will deliver the preached word and his choir will render the music.  Lunch will be served following the morning service. The church is located on Roundabout Rd., Louisa.

 

Sunday, July 6

Laurel Hill Baptist Church will celebrate its annual First Lady Day at 3 p.m. with guest speaker the Rev. Dr. Charlene Phillips, associate pastor, White Oak Run Baptist Church, Rapidan. Monday, July 7

Servants Of Christ Baptist Church will hold its Vacation Bible School, Arrow Island, Monday, July 7 through Friday, July 11 from 5:30 until 8:00 p.m. Participants will enjoy the jungle theme with a live exotic animal show on Friday. Classes are scheduled for four-year-olds through teens with snacks, games, crafts and Bible stories. The church is located at 60 Sommerfield Drive, 15N past Walmart, next door to the UVA Credit Union.

 

Bright Hope Baptist Church, Louisa, Foster Creek Baptist Church, Louisa, Galilee Baptist Church, Louisa and St. Thomas Baptist Church, Bumpass will hold a combined youth revival Monday, July 7 through Wednesday, July 9 from 6 until 9 p.m. at St. Thomas Baptist Church located at 1567 Bumpass Rd., Bumpass.
