Sunday, July 6

Laurel Hill Baptist Church will celebrate its annual First Lady Day at 3 p.m. with guest speaker the Rev. Dr. Charlene Phillips, associate pastor, White Oak Run Baptist Church, Rapidan. Wayland Baptist Church will welcome the Rev. Sharon Williams, Mt Zion First African Baptist Church Charlottesville, as guest speaker for 11 a.m. worship service.  The church is located at 1228 Oakland Rd., Louisa.

 

Eagle Baptist Church will hold its annual Deacons and Deaconesses Day during the 11 a.m. worship service. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Earl Pendleton, First African Baptist Church, Charlottesville. The church is located at 4682 Mt. Airy Rd., Louisa.

 

Monday, July 7

Servants Of Christ Baptist Church will hold its Vacation Bible School, Arrow Island, Monday, July 7 through Friday, July 11 from 5:30 until 8:00 p.m. Participants will enjoy the jungle theme with a live exotic animal show on Friday. Classes are scheduled for four-year-olds through teens with snacks, games, crafts and Bible stories. The church is located at 60 Sommerfield Drive, 15N past Walmart, next door to the UVA Credit Union.

 

Bright Hope Baptist Church, Louisa, Foster Creek Baptist Church, Louisa, Galilee Baptist Church, Louisa and St. Thomas Baptist Church, Bumpass will hold a combined youth revival Monday, July 7 through Wednesday, July 9 from 6 until 9 p.m. at St. Thomas Baptist Church located at 1567 Bumpass Rd., Bumpass. Hopeful Baptist Church will hold its Vacation Bible School Monday, July 7 through Friday, July 11 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. daily.  The theme this year is Agency 3D, Discover, Decide Defend.  A lunch will be held on Friday and a commencement service will take place at the church on Sunday, July 13 at 11 a.m.  The church is located at 14340 Hopeful Church Rd., Montpelier.  For information or to register, call (804) 883-6617.

 

Saturday, July 12

Philippi Christian Church will celebrate its heritage with a Black History celebration “We’ve Come This Far By Faith”  hosted by the Sunday school worshipers, at 3 p.m. The church is located at 7133 Jefferson Hwy., Mineral.

 

Ebenezer Baptist Church will hold its Family and Friends Day on Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13. A cookout with fun and games will take place at the church on Saturday from 3 until 6 p.m. The Rev. Temple Anderson, pastor of Philippi Christian Church, Mineral, and his congregation will be the guests for Sunday morning service starting at 9:30 a.m. The church is located at 864 Pendleton Rd., Mineral.

 

Sunday, July 13

The George Murray Thompson Memorial Choir will celebrate its 34th anniversary at 3 p.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church. Guest groups will include The Fantastic Goldenaires of Richmond and The Promise Keepers of Richmond. The church is located at 3384 Oakland Church Rd., Gum Spring. Gum Spring United Methodist Church will hold “Workshop of Wonders: Imagine and Build With God” Vacation Bible School Sunday, July 13 through Friday, July 18 from 6:30 until 9:00 p.m. with dinner served at 5:45 p.m. nightly. St. Mark Baptist Church will hold an ordination service for the Rev. Wayne J. Allen at 3 p.m. The Rev. E.  Richard Swan, pastor of Jerusalem Baptist Church, Doswell, will be the guest preacher.  His choir, ushers, and congregation will accompany him. Mt. Hope Baptist Church will hold its Vacation Bible School, “The Jesus Connection…What a Friend” Monday, July 14 through Thursday, July 17. Classrooms for all age groups will include jazzercise, music, arts, crafts and outside activities.
