Rudolph M. Wilkerson
Rudolph “Rudy” Mason Wilkerson, 77, of Zion Crossroads, died Wednesday, July 9, 2014.
Born June 19, 1937 in Charlottesville, he was a son of the late Vernon Lee Wilkerson Sr. and Birdie Morrison Wilkerson. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby and Norman Wilkerson.
Rudy, as he was known to friends and family, was retired from the University of Virginia Hospital. He was a quiet soul with a delightful sense of humor. He was a die-hard Washington Redskins fan, NASCAR enthusiast (Jeff Gordon), and loved UVA sports. He loved old western movies, bowling and was a regular member of the Gordonsville Tastee Freeze Breakfast Club where he enjoyed time with special friends. Rudy also loved country music and was known for his skills on the dance floor.
Mr. Wilkerson is survived by his wife, Doris Spriggs Wilkerson; three daughters, Debra Wilkerson of Nelson County, Tammy Spriggs Rogers and her husband, Walter Rogers Jr., of Gordonsville, Deborah Spriggs Stokes and her husband, Tallie, of Louisa; her brothers, Vernon Wilkerson and his wife, Rose, of Ormond Beach, Florida, Floyd Wilkerson of Ruckersville; her sisters, Betty Ragland of Virginia Beach, Ruby Cronk and her husband, John, of Cismont, and Marie Wilkerson of Charlottesville; her grandchildren, James Turner Jr., Jacob Turner, Jennifer Rogers Barnes, Jason Rogers and Ryan Stokes; and three great-grandchildren, and his special orange tabby, Tigger.
Funeral services, conducted by Pastor Gabriel Turner, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 13 at Preddy Funeral Home, Gordonsville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Internment will be at Maplewood Cemetery.

Martha B. Chisholm
Martha Belle Chisholm, 92, passed away peacefully Monday morning, June 30, 2014 at her home in Richmond.
She was predeceased many years by her husband, Raymond; her four Borden sisters and brother, Ben, of Bumpass.
Martha Belle was a bright, complicated, and generous spirited woman. She will be missed by her four children, Ray, Jim, Robert and Gail; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many friends.
A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9 at Elk Creek Baptist Church, Mineral. Interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Louisa.

James N. Groome
James Nolan Groome, 72, of Gordonsville, peacefully departed this life on Tuesday July 1, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Born Aug. 2, 1941 in Louisa County, he was a son of the late Robert Hunter Groome and Eva Ronquest Groome. He was also preceded in death by a son, Dennis Groome; and two brothers, Rodney Groome and Thomas Groome.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Groome, two sons, Scotty Groome and his wife, Crystal, James T. Groome and his wife, Kimberly; three brothers, Bucky Groome and his wife, Irma, Dickie Groome and his wife, Marie, Mike Groome and his wife, Susan; four sisters, Janet Mayes and her husband, Doug, Ann Stephens and her husband, Danny, Elsie Williams and her companion, Ellis, Lois Blaisdell and her husband, Bob; five grandchildren, Brandy Groome, Amber Wilson, Caroline Groome, Bridgette Groome, Dylan Groome; and a great-granddaughter, Kelcie.
Nolan enjoyed being outside and always kept busy around the house. He was a hard worker and loved working as a truck driver. He enjoyed hanging out with his buddies and drinking coffee around town. He was an avid Nascar fan of Jeff Gordon. He was truly one of a kind and loved to joke around with people. Within our lives as well as our hearts, he will forever be missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services, conducted by Chaplin Greg Compton, were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday July 6 at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Gordonsville. Interment followed in Hillcrest Cemetery in Louisa.

Lloyd G. Hale
Lloyd Grenville Hale, 85, of Louisa, died Friday, July 4, 2014 at the Martha Jefferson Hospital, Charlottesville.
Born May 6, 1929 in Richmond, he was a son of the late Vance G. Hale and Dorothy Thomas Wacker. He was a also preceded in death by a son, Lloyd G. Hale Jr.; and a sister, Jean Parrish.
Mr. Hale is survived by his wife, Glennette May Hale; two daughters, Kelly O’Neal McFarland, Nina Rose Shroyer; three sons, Kenneth Wayne Hale, Neal Thomas Hale, Joseph Glen Hale; one sister, Lorna Fuentes; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services, conducted by Pastor Bob Banks, were held at 11 a.m. on Monday July 7 at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Gordonsville. Interment was in Maplewood Cemetery. officiated.

Roland A. Hamm
Roland Albert Hamm, 79, of Louisa County, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at his residence.
He was born on Aug. 2, 1934 to the late John and Arlene Hamm. Roland was a lifelong resident of Pendleton.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Joe; and a sister, Mae Wolfrey,
Survivors include his two sisters, Betty Elizabeth Proffitt (Roy) and Edith Bickley (Marion); and one brother, Thomas “John” Hamm; and many nephews and nieces.
A service was held at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 7 at the church. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Louisa.

Marvin E. Wall
Marvin Edward Wall, 47, of Louisa, passed away on July 4, 2014.
He is survived by his father, Marvin E. Wall (Debbie); his mother,Thelma Wall (Steve Beebe); three sisters, Tammy Campbell (David), Becky Wall and Cassie Wall; three brothers, Ricky Wall (Rita Dunivan), Roger Wall and Brian Wall; one step-sister, Naomi Wall; one step-brother, Melvin Wall, beloved friend/companion, Cindy Wall; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
