Sunday, Aug. 10

South Anna Baptist Church will celebrate Homecoming during the 11 a.m. worship service followed by a fellowship luncheon. The guest speaker will be Brother Clayton Custalow, ThM, pastor of New Hope Baptist Assembly, Tappahannock. Custalow and his wife, Karen, reside on the Mattaponi Indian Reservation, West Point. Custalow will also be the guest speaker for revival services Monday, Aug. 11 through Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 7 p.m. nightly Music will be provided by various groups. The church is located at  9071 Cross County Rd., Mineral.

 

St. Thomas Baptist Church will hold its annual Homecoming at 11 a.m. with Pastor Sharon Roberts, followed by lunch at 1 p.m. Afternoon services will begin at 2:30 p.m. with prayer, followed with performances by Living Waters Fellowship, Louisa Praise Dancers and the choir. Pastor Patricia Dunn, of Living Waters Fellowship, Louisa, will  deliver a Homecoming message at 3:00 p.m. Revival services will be held Monday, Aug. 11 through Wednesday Aug. 13 with prayer and praise at 7:00 p.m., followed by worship at 7:30 p.m. Guest speakers will include Matthew Robinson, associate minister, New Line Baptist Church on Monday for “Youth Night;”  the Rev. William Mallory, Shiloh Baptist Church, Palmyra, on Tuesday, for “Men’s Night;” and the Rev. Frances Lewis of Soul Saving Station, Louisa, on Wednesday for “Women’s Night.” The church is located at 1567 Bumpass Rd., Bumpass.

Back to School Blessings will be held at 10 a.m. in a joint service with West Louisa Charge of the United Methodist Church and Ebenezer United Methodist Church for the blessing of the new school year. All students and school employees are invited. Students should bring their backpacks, school bags, etc. for the blessing. The service will be held at Ebenezer located at 3092 Oakland Rd., Louisa.

 

Mt. Hope Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Homecoming at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Monroe L. Smith delivering the morning message followed by lunch. The afternoon service will being with prayer and praise service at 2:30 p.m. and worship at 3:00 p.m.  The guest evangelist will be the Rev. Dr. Phillip E. Knight and the Rock Hill Baptist Church family of Mechanicsville. Revival services will be Monday, Aug. 11 through Wednesday, Aug. 13 with prayer and praise service nightly at 7:00 p.m. followed by worship.  The guest evangelist will be the Rev. Dr. A. Lincoln James, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, Richmond. Guest choirs will render music each night. The church is located at 5501 Paynes Mill Rd., Bumpass.

 

Mineral Baptist Church will celebrate Homecoming with one worship service at 11 a.m.   The message will be presented by Beyond the Ashes, a Dove award nominated gospel trio, who will also provide the music for the day.  A covered dish dinner will follow the service in the Family Life Center. The church is located at 51 Louisa Ave. Mineral.

Mt. Gilliam Baptist Church (Old Site) will celebrate Homecoming and Revival beginning with its 11 a.m. worship service led by Pastor Donald King Sr. followed by lunch.  The Rev. Todd Winston, pastor of Greenwood Baptist Church, Asland, will be the afternoon guest beginning at 3 p.m. He will be accompanied by his choir, ushers, and congregation.  The weekly revival evangelist will be the Rev. Dr. Larry Black, pastor of New Salem Zion Baptist Church, Pacolet, South Carolina. Music will be rendered by various choirs each night.  Prayer and praise will be at 7:30 p.m. followed by worship at 8:00 p.m. The church is located at 4641 Chalklevel Rd., Louisa.

 

Foster Creek Baptist Church will celebrate Homecoming at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Michael R. Crawley Jr. and the Foster Creek Baptist Chruch Mass Choir followed by a luncheon. The 3 p.m. afternoon service will begin revival  with Pastor Fred Sales, Macedonia Baptist Church, Colonial Beach. Revival will continue Monday, Aug. 11 through Friday, Aug. 15 with Pastor Sales with teaching at 7:00 p.m., prayer and praise at 7:30 p.m. and worship at 8:00 p.m. The church is located at 4028 East Jack Jouett Rd., Louisa.

 

Wayland Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Homecoming at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Leroy Mashore, associate pastor of Bright Hope Baptist Church, Louisa, followed by lunch. The afternoon service will begin with prayer and praise at 2:30 p.m. followed by worship at 3:00 p.m. with guest evangelist the Rev. Joseph Moore of Shady Grove Baptist Church, Orange.  He will be accompanied by his ushers and the men’s choir.  Revival services will be held Monday, Aug 11 through Wednesday Aug. 13 with prayer and praise service at 7:30 p.m. followed by worship at 8:00 p.m. nightly.  The Rev. Joseph Moore and musical talent of Blue Run Rising Stars of Barboursville will be the guests on Monday. On Tuesday night The Rev. William House III, Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Mineral, accompanied by his ushers and his combined choir, will be the guests on Tuesday. The Rev. House will return with Union Baptist Workshop Choir rending the music. The church is located at 1228 Oakland Rd., Louisa.

 

Mt. Gilliam New Site Baptist Church will celebrate Homecoming and revival beginning with 11:30 a.m. worship service with Pastor Louis A. Collins Jr. followed by a luncheon. The 2:30 p.m. service will be conducted by the Rev. Tammie Collins of the Garden of Gethsemane Ministries.  Revival will be held Monday, Aug. 11 through Wednesday, Aug. 14 and will be conducted by the Rev. Louis A. Collins III pastor of the Garden of Gethsemane ministries at 7:30 p.m. the church is located at 2212 Mansfield Rd., Mineral.

 

Divine Baptist Church will celebrate Homecoming during the 11 a.m. worship service with the Rev. Robert Payne followed by a luncheon at 1 p.m. The 3 p.m. service will be led by the Rev. Temple Anderson of Philippi Christian Church. He will be accompanied by his choir and congregation. Revival will be held Monday, Aug. 11 through Wednesday, Aug. 13. Prayer and praise will begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by worship at 8:00 p.m. Guest speakers will include the Rev. Joanne Brice, Canaan Soul Saving Station Church, Kents Store, on Monday. Music will be rendered by New Line Baptist Church, Gum Spring. The Rev. Gilbert Bates, Zion Travelers Baptist Church and his choir will guest on Tuesday. Minister Alice Christmas, First Bible Way Church will bring the message on Wednesday. First Baptist Church, Louisa, will render the music. The church is located at 11933 Shannon Hill Rd., Louisa.

 

Sunday, Aug. 17

Lasley United Methodist Church will hold its Homecoming at 11 a.m.   Connecting with those who trace their heritage back to the congregation’s founder is an event that the church looks forward to all year.  Pastor DeBres will be the speaker.  The church is located at 393 Lasley Ln., Louisa.

 

Pleasant Plain Baptist Church will hold its revival Sunday, Aug. 17 through Wednesday, Aug. 20. The Rev. Harold Solomon will deliver the message for the 11:30 a.m. worship service followed by lunch. The afternoon service will be held at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Lorenzo Dyer, Zion Hill Baptist Church, Keswick. Revival will continue Monday through Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. with prayer and praise followed by worship at 7:30 p.m.  Guests will include the Rev. Michael L.W. Moore, Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Richmond, on Monday; the Rev. Frank Lomax III, First Union Baptist Church, Crozier, on Tuesday; and the Rev. Zavier Jackson, Chapman Grove Baptist Church, Charlottesville, on Wednesday.

 

Union Baptist Church will hold its annual homecoming during the 11 a.m. service with Pastor H. Tyrone Hilton followed by lunch. The 3 p.m. service will be preached by Pastor Crosby of Mt. Garland Baptist Church, Bumpass, who will be accompanied by his choir, congregation and ushers. Revival will be held Wednesday, Aug. 20 through Friday, Aug. 22 at 7:30 p.m. Guests will include Pastor Mary Cary, Free Union Baptist Church, Stony Point, on Wednesday; Pastor Jeffrey King, Rose Hill Baptist Church, Charlottesville, on Thursday; and Elder Hairston, Redeemed Apostolic Church, Fredericksburg, on Friday. Each pastor will be accompanied by his choir and congregation. The church is located at 1546 Vawter Corner Rd., Louisa.

 

St. Mark Baptist Church will hold its annual Homecoming and revival services starting with the morning worship at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Gregory Washington.   The Rev. Marcus D. Martin, New Bridge Baptist Church, Richmond, will deliver the homecoming message at 3 p.m. Revival services will be held Monday, Aug. 18 through Thursday, Aug. 21 with prayer and praise at 7:30 p.m. following by worship at 8:00 p.m. nightly with the following guests. The Rev. Darryl G. Thompson and Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Glen Allen, on Monday; The Rev. James F. Hedgepeth and North Gayton Baptist Church, Short Pump, on Tuesday; The Rev. Dr. Kirkland D. Walton and St. Peter Baptist Church, Glen Allen, on Wednesday; The Rev. Kevin L. Sykes and St. James Baptist Church, Varina, on Thursday. The church is located at 4596 Factory Mill Rd,. Maidens.

Ebenezer Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Homecoming during the 11:30 a.m. worship service with Pastor House delivering the morning service followed by lunch. Evergreen Baptist Church of Palmyra will lead prayer and praise service starting at 2:30 p.m. and Pastor Justin House of EBC will be the evangelist for the afternoon and through out the week. Revival service will be held Monday, Aug. 18 through Wednesday, Aug. 20 with prayer and praise starting at 7:30 p.m. each night. Music will for the week will include One Accord on Monday, Thessolania Baptist Church on Tuesday, and Philippi Christian Church on Wednesday. The church is located at 864 Pendleton Rd., Mineral.

 

Wednesday, Aug. 20

Louisa Baptist Church will begin its Wednesday evening dinner at 5:45 p.m. followed by Bible study from 6:30 until 7:30 throughout the school year. There will be classes for all age levels including a nursery. The church is located at 305 E. Main St., Louisa.
