Friday, Aug. 15

Sunday, Aug. 17

Lasley United Methodist Church will hold its Homecoming at 11 a.m. Connecting with those who trace their heritage back to the congregation’s founder is an event that the church looks forward to all year. Pastor DeBres will be the speaker. The church is located at 393 Lasley Ln., Louisa.

 

Pleasant Plain Baptist Church will hold its revival Sunday, Aug. 17 through Wednesday, Aug. 20. The Rev. Harold Solomon will deliver the message for the 11:30 a.m. worship service followed by lunch. The afternoon service will be held at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Lorenzo Dyer, Zion Hill Baptist Church, Keswick. Revival will continue Monday through Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. with prayer and praise followed by worship at 7:30 p.m.  Guests will include the Rev. Michael L.W. Moore, Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Richmond, on Monday; the Rev. Frank Lomax III, First Union Baptist Church, Crozier, on Tuesday; and the Rev. Union Baptist Church will hold its annual homecoming during the 11 a.m. service with Pastor H. Tyrone Hilton, followed by lunch. The 3 p.m. service will be preached by Pastor DeWayne Cosby of Mt. Garland Baptist Church, Bumpass, who will be accompanied by his choir, congregation and ushers. Revival will be held Wednesday, Aug. 20 through Friday, Aug. 22 at 7:30 p.m. Guests will include Pastor Mary Cary, Free Union Baptist Church, Stony Point, on Wednesday; Pastor Jeffrey King, Rose Hill Baptist Church, Charlottesville, on Thursday; and Elder Hairston, Redeemed Apostolic Church, Fredericksburg, on Friday. St. Mark Baptist Church will hold its annual Homecoming and revival services starting with the morning worship at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Gregory Washington.   The Rev. Marcus D. Martin, New Bridge Baptist Church, Richmond, will deliver the homecoming message at 3 p.m. Revival services will be held Monday, Aug. 18 through Thursday, Aug. 21 with prayer and praise at 7:30 p.m. following by worship at 8:00 p.m. nightly with the following guests. The Rev. Darryl G. Thompson and Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Glen Allen, on Monday; The Rev. James F. Hedgepeth and North Gayton Baptist Church, Short Pump, on Tuesday; The Rev. Dr. Kirkland D. Ebenezer Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Homecoming during the 11:00 a.m. worship service with Pastor House delivering the morning service followed by lunch. Evergreen Baptist Church of Palmyra will lead prayer and praise service starting at 2:30 p.m. and Pastor Justin House of EBC will be the evangelist for the afternoon and through out the week. Revival service will be held Monday, Aug. 18 through Wednesday, Aug. 20 with prayer and praise starting at 7:30 p.m. each night. Music will for the week will include One Accord on Monday, Thessolania Baptist Church on Tuesday, and Philippi Christian Church on Wednesday. The church is located at 864 Pendleton Rd., Mineral.

 

St. Thomas Baptist Church will hold worship service at 8 a.m. The church is located at 1567 Bumpass Rd., Bumpass.

 

Trinity Baptist Church will celebrate its Homecoming during its 11 a.m. worship service with the Rev. Lowell Wright. Special music will be rendered by The Hendersons. Lunch will be provided following the service. The church is located at 135 Mansfield Rd., Mineral.

 

First Baptist Church will baptize five new members at 10:15 a.m. followed by its annual Homecoming at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bruce Jones bring the message and the mass choir rendering the music. Lunch will be served following the service. The afternoon service will begin with prayer and praise at 2:30 p.m. and worship at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. A. Lincoln James, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, Richmond. He will be accompanied by his ushers, choir and congregation. Revival will be held Monday, Aug. 18 through Wednesday, Aug. 20 with Dr. James. Prayer and praise will begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by worship at 8:00 p.m. Guest choirs will include The Celebration Choir of Mt. Hope Baptist Church, Bumpass; Nu Beginning of Swansboro Baptist Church, Richmond; and soloists, the Revs. Cora Armstrong and Almeta Ingram Miller, both of Richmond. Laurel Hill Baptist Church will celebrate Homecoming during its 11 a.m. worship service with the Rev. Barry Carpenter. The afternoon service will begin at 3 p.m.  the Rev. Reese Washington, Shiloh Baptist Church, Brandy Station, who will also lead the week’s revival services Monday, Aug. 18 through Friday, Aug. 22 at 7 p.m.  The following pastors will be the worship leaders and their choirs will render the music: The Rev. Wednesday, Aug. 20

Louisa Baptist Church will begin its Wednesday evening dinner at 5:45 p.m. followed by Bible study from 6:30 until 7:30 throughout the school year. There will be classes for all age levels including a nursery. The church is located at 305 E. Main St., Louisa.

Saturday, Aug. 23

Temple of Deliverance, HCG will celebrate its combined choirs anniversary “With One Voice” honoring the adult choir, United Voices of Praise and the youth choir at 6 p.m. The church is located at 5756 Zachary Taylor Hwy., Mineral.

Sunday, Aug. 24

New Line Baptist Church will hold its Homecoming starting at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor J.R. Coney delivering the message, followed by lunch.  Prayer and praise will begin at 2:30 p.m., followed by worship at 3:00 p.m. Elder Dennis Jackson, Greater Refuge Outreach Church, Sandy Hook, will be the guest speaker. Music will be rendered by Tammy Scott and New Beginning. Revival will be held Monday, Aug. 25 through Friday, Aug. 29 with prayer and praise at 7:30 p.m. and worship at 8:00 p.m. Guest speakers, accompanied by choir and ushers, will include: the Rev. Mt. Zion Baptist Church celebrate its annual Homecoming with acting pastor, the Rev. Larry Lewis, leading the 11:00 a.m. worship service Revival will begin with the afternoon service at 2:30 p.m. featuring Dr. John Kinney and the Ebenezer Baptist Church family of Beaverdam.  Dr. Kinney will be the evangelist for revival services Monday, Aug. 25 through Wednesday, Aug. 27 at 7:30 p.m. The church is located at 3909 Holly Grove Rd,. Mt. Garland Baptist Church will be celebrate Homecoming during its 11 a.m. service led by Pastor Dwain R. Cosby and music by the Combined Voices of Praise Inspirational Choir, followed by lunch.  The afternoon revival service will begin with prayer and praise at 2:30 p.m., followed by worship at 3:00 p.m. with guest speaker the Rev. Dr. Stephen Hewlett, Riverview Baptist Church, Richmond. He will be accompanied by his choir, ushers and congregation.  Revival will continue Monday, Aug. 25 through Wednesday, Aug. 27 with prayer and praise at 7:30 p.m., followed by worship at 8:00 p.m. The following guests are scheduled: the Rev. Zion Travelers Baptist Church will celebrate Homecoming during its 11 a.m. service with the Rev., Austin Bates followed by the 3 p.m. worship service with the Rev. Ruben Lewis of Galilee Baptist Church. He will be accompanied by his choir, congregation and ushers. Lunch will be served between the two services. Rev. Bates will lead revival services Monday, Aug. 25 through Friday, Aug. 29 with prayer and praise at 7:30 p.m.. followed by worship at 8:00 p.m. Musical groups scheduled to perform include: Philippi Christian Church on Monday, Galilee Baptist Church on Tuesday, Rising Sun Baptist Church on Wednesday; Laurel Hill Baptist Church on Thursday and Union Baptist Church Worship Choir on Friday.
