Lemon’s Jewelry manager sentenced for embezzlement

Charles.WalkerA Louisa man appeared in Louisa County Circuit Court on Monday, Aug. 18 for sentencing on one count of embezzlement and received five years, with all but 90 days suspended.

Charles Edward Walker, 45, was an employee of Lemon’s Jewelry in Louisa and was arrested for embezzling more than $15,000 from the company.

Louisa County Commonwealth’s Attorney Rusty McGuire said that Walker had taken advantage of his employer over time, but faced up to his actions.

Defense Attorney Reed Amos told the court that when the company confronted his client he admitted his guilt and has remorse. Amos told the court that it was Walker’s addiction to gambling that caused him to begin stealing from his employer and that his client’s actions were out of character for him.
