Union Baptist Church of Trevilians, will hold its Deacon and Deaconess Day service at 3 p.m. The guest pastor, choir and church family for the afternoon will be Pastor Harold Arrington of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Orange. Deacons are encouraged to wear black and deaconesses in white attire.  The church is located at 1546 Vawter Corner Rd., Louisa.

 

Standing on The Promises of God Church will celebrate its Usher Anniversary at 3 p.m.  The guest preacher for the occasion will be Pastor Ricky Hopkins from The Total Praise Worship Church, Ashland. He will be accompanied by his choir and congregation.  The church is located at 4046 Waldrop Church Rd., Louisa. Ebenezer Baptist Church’s Male Chorus will celebrate its 12th anniversary at 3 p.m.  Guest musical groups will include Bethany Male Chorus, Gospel Laborers, Mt. Olivet Male Chorus and St. Thomas Male Chorus.  The church is located at 109 Ebenezer Rd., Mineral.

 

The F.M. Roane Youth Choir will celebrate its eighth anniversary at Mt. Garland Baptist Church at 3 p.m. The church is located at 4000 Buckner Rd., Bumpass.

First Bible Way Church’s ushers will hold a service of praise at 3 p.m.  The Brooks Family of Philippi Christian Church, Mineral, will be in concert as well as first Bible Way’s combined choir.  The church is located at 613 Goldmine Rd., Louisa.

 

Pleasant Plain Baptist Church, will ordain Deacon-elect Harry Quarles during an ordination service at 3 p.m. Pastor Louis Collins Jr. of Mt Gilliam New Site Baptist Church and the choir will be the guests. Each church is asked to send a deacon. The church is located on 304 Cuffee Creek Lane, Gordonsville.

 

Louisa Baptist Church will begin its next sermon series titled Developing Your Faith.  This series will take a look at the lives of Abraham, Jacob, Peter, Moses, David, Mary, Naaman, Gideon and Jesus.  Through these lives we will look at faith–during the unseen, that heals, under pressure, through giving, that endures, that glorifies, through grace and through success.  The church offers two convenient services each Sunday as well as childcare.  The traditional service is held at 11:00 a.m. and the contemporary service is at 8:30 a.m., with Bible study  between the two.  The church is located at 305 E. Main Street, Louisa.

 

The Rev. Henry Truzy will preach at the Thessalonia Baptist Church during the 11 a.m. worship service.  The church is located at 278 Old Country Rd., Mineral.

 

Eagle Baptist Church will observe its Women’s Day celebration at 2:30 p.m.  The guest preacher will be Dr. Peggy Gatewood, co-founder of Standing on the Promises of God Church, Louisa.  Music will be rendered by the Copeland Singers of Louisa.  The church is located at 4682 Mt. Airy Rd., Louisa.

Sunday, Mar. 25

St. James Episcopal Church Women are planning “Make a Joyful Noise” to be held at the Louisa church at 2:30 p.m. Albrecht von Gaudecker, the featured musician, will perform several pieces on the St. James pipe organ. Also featured in the program are soloists Jelita Hopkins and her father, James Perry. An ensemble will introduce the program and sing the beloved benediction “The Lord Bless You and Keep You.”  von Gaudecker is a former St. James organist and choir master who is now at St. Paul’s Memorial Church, adjacent to the University of Virginia campus. Hopkins is the Louisa County High School choral director and Perry, is an accredited music therapist. The program will be followed by light refreshments in the church parish hall.

 

Free Union Gospel Church will hold its Black Hisstory program at 3 p.m. with Allen Jennings honoring the life of Henry Box Brown. Refreshments will be served.  The church is located at 10378 Louisa Rd., Gordonsville.
