Friday, Apr. 6

The Louisa County Sunday School Union will commemorate Good Friday at Mt. Gilliam New Site Baptist Church at 7 p.m. The church is located at 2212 Mansfield Rd., Mineral.

 

Louisa Baptist Church will present the musical-drama presentation The Way at 7 p.m. The presentation depicts the journey of Jesus (the Way, the Truth and the Life) as he enters Jerusalem willingly and suffers on the cross. The church is located at 305 E. Main St., Louisa.

Louisa United Methodist Church will hold a Good Friday service at 12 p.m. The church will be open for prayer until 9 p.m. The church is located at 100 E. Main St., Louisa.

 

St. Thomas Baptist Church will hold a Good Friday service at 7:30 p.m. with several guest pastors speaking on the “Seven Last Words of Jesus Christ.” The service will include communion. The church is located at 1567 Bumpass Rd., Bumpass.

 

Foster Creek Baptist Church will hold its Good Friday service at 7:30 p.m. featuring the “Seven Expressions of Christ from the Cross.” Guest speakers will include Pastor Larry Holt Sr., Standing on the Promises of God; the Rev. James Cozart III., Village of Faith; Pastor Michael Crawley Jr., from Foster Creek Baptist Church; the Rev. Pantheir Whiting, Foster Creek Baptist Church; the Rev. Church of the Incarnation will celebrate Jesus’ resurrection at 10:30 a.m. Following the service will be an Easter Egg hunt for the children and coffee hour for adults. Cornerstone Pentecostal Church will hold Easter services with its new pastor the Rev. J.F. Moody at 11 a.m. The church is located at 1457 James Madison Hwy., Gordonsville.

 

Mineral United Methodist Church will celebrate Easter with a sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. and a traditional service at 11:00 a.m. The church is located at 301 W. Third Street in Mineral.

 

Fork Baptist Church will hold an Easter sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. The church is located at 14357 Jefferson Hwy., Bumpass.

 

Crossroads Community Church will gather for worship on Easter morning at 6:30 a.m. to celebrate and offer thanksgiving for the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Louisa United Methodist Church will hold a sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. on the lawn beside the church. Worship services will be held at 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. with the children’s annual Easter celebration held between the two services. The church is located at 100 E. Main St., Louisa.

 

Macedonia United Methodist Church will have its sunrise service at 7 a.m. Following the service, a full breakfast will be served in the social hall. The church is located at 17 Byrd Mill Rd., the intersection of Byrd Mill and East Jack Jouett Roads.

 

Mechanicsville Baptist Church will worship during a sunrise service at 7 a.m. in the pavilion. Breakfast will follow. Easter worship services will continue at 11 a.m., in the sanctuary. Springfield Baptist Church will celebrate Easter with a sunrise service at 6 a.m. with a breakfast following the service. The church is located at 1042 Zion Rd., Gordonsville (Zion Crossroads).

 

Dogwood Baptist Church will hold a sunrise service at 8 a.m. at the church. Breakfast will follow. Sunday School will begin at 10 a.m. followed by worship service at 11 a.m. The adult choir will present the cantata “He Lives.” The church is located at 5677 New Line Road, Gum Spring.

 

Rising Sun Baptist Church will host a resurrection in unity service during its annual sunrise service at 7 a.m. with Watchtower Baptist Church and Laurel Hill Baptist Church.  The morning message will be brought by the Rev. Edward Moody of Watchtower. Music will be rendered by Laurel Hill. Memorial Baptist Church of Louisa will hold a sunrise service at 7 a.m. on the hill on Elm Ave., across from the Louisa Healthcare Center.

 

Elk Creek Baptist Church will hold an Easter sunrise service at its lakeside worship area at 6:45 a.m. The church is located at 5916 Kentucky Springs Rd. with the lakeside worship area just across the road near Elk Creek Bridge.  A covered dish breakfast will follow in the church fellowship hall. A traditional service will be held at the church at 11 a.m.

 

Emmanuel Holiness Church will hold a sunrise service at 7 a.m. followed by a breakfast and an Easter egg hunt. Sunday School will be at 9 a.m.  and worship at 10 a.m. The church is located at 17904 Jefferson Highway, Montpelier, six miles west of Montpelier on Rt 33.

 

Holly Grove Christian Church will hold its Easter sunrise service at 7:30 a.m. outside near the old rugged cross (weather permitting) with a breakfast to follow in the fellowship hall. The children of the church will have an Easter egg hunt at 8:30 a.m. Sunday school will begin at 9:00 a.m., worship service at 10:00 a.m. The church is located at 1637 Holly Grove Dr., Bumpass.

 

Philippi Christian Church, will hold its annual Easter sunrise service at 6 a.m. The church is located on Rt. 33, Mineral.

 

Peach Grove Baptist Church will celebrate Easter with its guest the Rev. Louis Collins, pastor of Mt. Gilliam New Site Baptist Church, and the drama team’s musical presentation of “The Champion.”  Services will begin at 8 a.m.  The church is located at 93 Peach Grove Rd., Louisa.

 

Bright Hope Baptist Church will celebrate Resurrection Sunday with a sunrise service at 7 a.m. followed with a fellowship breakfast.  Worship service will begin at 11 a.m.  The church is located at 9833 Poindexter Rd., Louisa.

 

Eagle Baptist Church will hold an Easter sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. by Pastor Roger Braxton followed by breakfast.  Regular 11 a.m. worship will resume on April 15.  The church is located at 4682 Mt. Airy Rd., Louisa.

New Line Baptist Church will hold its annual Junior and Youth Revival Monday, April 9 through Wednesday, April 11. Guest preachers will include the Rev. Kimberly Fortune of Galilee Baptist Church, Kents Store on Monday, Pastor Wayne Henley of Charles City on Tuesday and the Rev. Thomas Simmons of Trinity Baptist Church, Richmond, on Wednesday. Living Water Fellowship will celebrate its 12th anniversary April 9 through April 13 at 7 p.m. nightly.  Guest speakers will include Prophetess Amela Kava of Buffalo, New York, on Tuesday and Wednesday and Pastor Gene and Linda Arey of Harvest Church International, Waynesboro, on Thursday and Friday. Temple of Deliverance, HCG will hold youth spring revival services Wednesday, April 11 through Friday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Laurel Hill Baptist Church will host the initial sermon of Dr. Alice Morgan-Brown at 3 p.m. The church is located at 7652 Kentucky Springs Road, Mineral. Dinner will be served following the service.

 

Thessalonia Baptist Church will present the $10,000 Gospel Concert, at 2 p.m.  Featured on the program will be the Sparklers and Praise Dancers from Zion Travelers Baptist Church, Hortense Lewis, Tiffany Graves, Laborers of Christ, the youth of Thessalonia Baptist Church and the Rev. Beulah Minor. The church is located at 278 Old County Rd., Mineral.

Wayland Baptist Church will celebrate its pastor’s 10th anniversary. Guest speakers will include Pastor Otis Spellman bringing the Word at 11 a.m. and Elder Greg Jones preaching at 3 p.m. . Lunch will be served between the services. The church is located at 1228 Oakland Road, Louisa.

 

Pastor Paul Pace of Devine Baptist Church will be the guest speaker at Mt. Garland Baptist Church at 3 p.m. He will be accompanied by his choir, ushers and congregation. The church is located at 4000 Buckner Rd., Bumpass.

 

Mt. Gilliam Baptist Church will hold its annual Family and Friends Day service at 3 p.m. The guest minister will be Pastor  Michael Stith of First Baptist Church Bermuda Hundred, Chester, accompanied by his choir and congregation.  Lunch will be served prior to the afternoon service.  The church is located at 4641 Chalklevel Road, Louisa.
