Local Resident to Present Lecture at Eighth-Annual Quilt Expo

Louisa resident Sharon Kennedy will present a lecture titled “Three-Dimensional Appliqué” at Quilt Expo in Madison, Wis. The one-hour lecture is among 144 to be given by notable quilting authorities, and provides an opportunity for quilters to acquire new ideas and tips from leading quilting educators.

The Quilt Expo, presented by Wisconsin Public Television (WPT) and Nancy Zieman Productions LLC, runs 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6 through Saturday, Sept. 8 in the Exhibition Hall at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wis.

Other highlights include a 10-category quilt contest, hundreds of quilts on exhibit, a vendor mall, stage presentations, Sit & Sew and hands-on workshops, nationally known celebrity presenters, the opportunity to meet and chat with public television’s Nancy Zieman, a prize raffle and two special evening events.

This year’s evening events feature Marie Bostwick, New York Times best-selling author of the Cobbled Court Quilt novels, and Wisconsin Folksinger Lil’ Rev, whose songs, stories, poems and quilting lore offer an entertaining ode to quilters everywhere.
