Summertime is almost over! Join Louisa County Extension for the rest of their Summer 4-H Workshops. The camps are offered to any child or teen ages nine through 18 (unless otherwise noted).

The camps that are still available include: Mini Horse Camp, July 26-27; Knitting, July 30-31; Cast A Line, July 31; and Baking, August 7. In many classes, participants create one-of-a-kind masterpiece that can be entered in the Louisa County Agricultural Fair. A flyer with more description is posted around town and available in the extension office. All participants should bring food to eat during the snack break. Registration for all classes is required, accompanied with a small fee for supplies.

Learn the basics of knitting by starting a scarf. Come back the second day for follow up and assistance with questions. The Mini Horse Camp will cover things such as breeds, history, colors, horsey crafts, and I.D.

Cast-A-Line fishing workshop will be offered Tuesday July 31st, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Practice casting and baiting hooks, as well as other fishing tricks to perfect your technique of fishing skills. Come and join Mr. Bob at the Small Country Campground for this fun fishing experience. The class cost will be $5 per person and don’t forget water, sunscreen and a snack for this camp.

Pre-registration is required for all classes.  Most of the classes will be held at the Louisa County Extension Office unless otherwise noted. Call the Louisa County Extension Office at (540) 967-3422 to register or for more information
