Zion Travelers Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Homecoming and Revival services Aug. 26 through Aug. 31. Pastor Bates will bring the morning service at 11:00 a.m. followed by lunch. The afternoon service will begin with Prayer and Praise at 2:30 p.m. and the worship service at 3:00 p.m. with guest speaker the Rev. Phillip A. Carter, pastor of Union Baptist Church, Avon. Rev. Carter will continue Revival throughout the week with the following guest choirs rendering the music: Union Baptist Church Choir on Sunday; New Horizon from Countyline Baptist Church on Monday; Christ Crusaders from Canaan Soul Saving Station on Tuesday; Eagle Baptist Church Choir on Wednesday; Ladies of Praise from Rising Sun Baptist Church on Thursday; and New Anna Baptist Church Choir on Friday. Mt. Garland Baptist Church will celebrate Homecoming and Revival Services on Sunday, Aug. 26 through Friday, Aug. 31. Sunday morning worship services will begin at 11:00 a.m., delivered by the Rev. Sharon Roberts, pastor of St. Thomas Baptist Church. The evening Revival services will begin at 3:00 p.m., delivered by the Rev. William House III, pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Mineral. Rev. House will be accompanied by his choir, ushers and congregation. Revival services will begin nightly with Prayer and Praise Services at 7:30 p.m., followed by worship service at 8:00 p.m. Guest speakers will include: the Rev. Alex Shelley, Mt. Olivet Baptist Church on Monday, the Rev. Temple Anderson, Phillippi Christian Church on Tuesday, the Rev. Edward Moody, WatchTower Baptist Church on Wednesday, the Rev. Peach Grove Baptist Church will hold its annual Homecoming and Revival service Sunday, Aug. 26 through Thursday, Aug. 30. The 11:30 a.m. worship service will be conducted by Pastor Sherman Hudson Sr. followed by lunch. The Rev. James Brown, pastor of Mt. Sinai in Madison will be the guest preacher for the 3:00 p.m. service. Revival will continue Monday through Thursday at 7:00 p.m. nightly with the Rev. Deborah Sams, the Rev. Jeff Sams, the Rev. Mt. Zion Baptist Church will observe its Homecoming at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ricardo Haynes delivering the message followed by dinner. The 3 p.m. service will feature the Rev. F. Todd Gray who will be accompanied by the Fifth Street Baptist Church Choir and congregation. Rev. Gray will continue with revival Monday, Aug. 27 through Wednesday, Aug. 29 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. New Line Baptist Church will hold its annual Homecoming and Revival services Sunday, Aug. 26 through Friday, Aug. 31. Sunday 11:00 a.m. service will be led by the Rev. J.R. Coney followed by lunch from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m.. Prayer and praise will begin 2:30 p.m., Homecoming service at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Melvin Woodson of Fauquier Baptist Church, accompanied by his choir, ushers and congregation. The revivalist for the week will be the Rev. Dr. Angelo Chapmon, pastor of Pilgram Journey Baptist Church, Henrico. Prayer and praise service will begin at 7:30 p.m., with worship at 8:00 p.m. nightly. Wednesday, Aug. 29
Mineral Baptist Church will begin its AWANA year for children two years old through fifth grade each week from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the main church facility. The Chosen, the youth group for middle school aged children, and the high school youth group meets each Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center. Adult Bible study classes will also begin and are held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dinner is served each evening starting at 5:30 p.m. for $3 a person or $10 maximum per family. The church is located at 51 Louisa Avenue in the town of Mineral.
Sunday, Sept. 2

Springfield Baptist Church will hold Homecoming and Revival services Sept. 2 through Sept. 7. Minister Gary Harmon, of Lynchburg, will be the guest speaker at the 11:00 a.m. Sunday morning service and Bishop Ambush Bailey of Rising Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Columbia, along with his choir will be the guests for the evening 3:00 p.m. service. Dinner will be served immediately after the 11:00 a.m. service.
