Rails support simple and honest facts

To the Editor:

Mr. Spencer’s letter last week asks the question “How dumb are the citizens of Louisa County supposed to be?” Valid question.

I believe the citizens of Louisa County are quite capable of formulating intelligent opinions when provided with simple, honest facts. Unfortunately, Mr. Spencer’s letter regarding the Route 22 Rail Park proffer amendment application offers very few simple, honest facts, and assumes the citizens are dumb enough to believe his outlandish claims.

While I was not personally involved in the original rezoning hearings for the rail park, I was aware that there were (and apparently still are) some who oppose the industrial use for this property. The rezoning battle was fought, the property was rezoned to industrial (IND) and any effort to revisit the rezoning decision has no relevance to this current application.
