Plans for additional broadband in Louisa

Louisa may receive better internet services with CVA Link's expansion.

Although last year’s earthquake put the brakes on a proposed county-backed plan that would provide broadband internet access to the majority of county residents, one local businessman is doing what he can to speed up the process.

Brian Gilbreth, owner of Louisa-based CVA Link, recently entered into a contract with American Towers to place wireless equipment on the company’s approximately 20 communications towers within the county.

“We are expanding our network, and these lease agreements will double the size of our footprint in a short period of time,” Gilbreth said.

The local business owner said he expects to have the initial build-out completed within nine months.
