Area Halloween and fall activities

Saturday, Oct. 27

Small Country Campground will hold Halloween fun for the family from 7 until 10 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults,  $5 for kids age 10 and younger. Activities include a haunted hayride and spook house. Call (540) 967-2430 or visit www.smallcountry.com for more information.

 

The Performing Arts 2000 Dance Showteam, the Millennium Movers will hold its third annual Boo House from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. Performing Arts 2000 is located on Main Street in the Town of Louisa across from the Louisa Mini Mart.  Admission is $3.  For more information, call Shannon Bradford at (540) 967-0765.

 

Sunday, Oct. 28

Gum Spring UMC is hosting its annual Trunk or Treat at 5:30 p.m. There will be food, fun, crafts, games and judging of the best-decorated vehicle. The church is located at 35 Church Rd., Gum Spring.

 

Wednesday, Oct. 31

Central Virginia Assembly of God will sponsor No Fright Fun Night in the lot adjacent to Food Lion, Louisa, from 5 until 8 p.m. Children’s activities, free food and candy. NFFN is an alternative to the traditional Trick or Treating and is a missions project of the church.

 

Louisa Baptist Church will hold Trunk or Treats on the front lawn from 6 until 8 p.m. Admission is free and there will be candy, snacks and music.  The church is located at 305 E. Main St., Louisa.

 

Mechanicsville Baptist Church, 10200 Louisa Road, will host a Carnival Party and Trunks of Treats from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Enjoy games and prizes, hot dogs, chips and drinks.  All children, under the ages of 12, accompanied by an adult, are welcome to come.

Holly Grove Christian Church will have trunk-or-treat from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Trick-or-treat in the church parking lot for candy and goodies.  The Holly Grove Vol. Fire Dept. and  Rescue Squad will also be there to greet children.  The church is also supporting the local food pantry by having “Candy for a Can.”  Bring a can of food and place it in the big black kettle. The church is located at 1637 Holly Grove Drive, Bumpass.

 

Mineral Baptist Church will sponsor a Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat featuring complimentary hot dogs, chips and drinks provided by the church as well as candy, activities and games in the Family Life Center from 6:00 until 8:30 p.m. The church is located at 51 Louisa Avenue in the town of Mineral.

 

Saturday, Nov. 3

Dogwood Baptist Church Harvest Fest will be held from 3 until 7 p.m. featuring live music, bounce houses, bake sale, and a kid Corn Hole Tournament at 4:30 p.m.  Spaghetti dinner will be available $8 from 4 until 7 p.m.  The church is located at 5677 Newline Rd., Gum Spring.

 

The Mineral Hillbillies will hold Mineral Hillbilly Day at Walton Park from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.  Fun and games for everyone with arts and crafts and brag strip simulator. Little River Baptist Church will hold its Fall Festival from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The festival includes food, games, hayrides, chili cookoff, cake decorating contest, door prizes, cake walk, & more.
