Election Results for Louisa County

Louisa County helped re-elect Rep. Eric Cantor.

Unlike recent years in which Louisa County had a number of local candidates on the ballot, this year was strictly a state and federal election. No school board. No supervisors. No town council.

Louisa County cast 9,030 votes for George Allen to 7,229 for Tim Kaine. Statewide, however, Tim Kaine won with 52.28% of the Virginia vote.

Louisa County voted decisively for Rep. Eric Cantor over challenger Wayne Powell. Cantor was re-elected with 58% of the state vote.

President Barack Obama received 50.57% of the statewide vote, while Louisa County turned out 56% in favor of Mitt Romney.

Complete details, with a precinct-by-precinct breakdown, appears in the Thursday, November 8 print edition of The Central Virginian.
