Friday, Nov. 9

Macedonia United Methodist Church will host a Lay Witness Mission Friday, Nov. 9 through Sunday, Nov. 11.  A Lay Witness Mission is about people coming together and sharing the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and what He has done and continues to do in their lives. It is a time to develop a closer walk with God.  General group worship services will be held on Friday at 7:15 p.m., Saturday at 6:45 p.m. Sunday’s worship will include Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and worship at 11:00 a.m. followed by a  covered-dish luncheon. Saturday, Nov. 10

Thessalonia Baptist Church will install the Rev. Henry K. Truzy Jr. as pastor the weekend of Nov. 10 and 11.  A pre-installation celebration will be held Saturday, Nov. 10 at 4 p.m. featuring a celebration of gospel music, including Workshop Choir of Rising Sun Baptist Church, the Celebration Choir of Mount Hope Baptist Church, Pastor Robert Strothers and Thessalonia Baptist Church Choir of Fork Union, Brother Josh King, Rose Hill Baptist Church and Brother Kenny Patton of Winston Salem, North Carolina.  The installation celebration will be held Sunday, Nov. 11.  Morning worship will begin at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor-Elect Henry Truzy bringing the message. Thessalonia Baptist Church Choir will be render the music. Lunch will be served following the morning worship service.  The installation service will begin at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. James Graves, associate minister of Zion Travelers Baptist Church, delivering the message. Music will be rendered by Zion Travelers Baptist Church Choir. The church is located at 278 Old County Rd., Mineral.

 

The House of God Mothers’ Board will host a service at 2:30 p.m. with featured speaker First Lady Mother Alice Christmas. The church is located at 5442 Columbia Rd., Gordonsville.

 

Sunday, Nov. 11

Laurel Hill Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Ushers’ Day at 3 p.m. The Rev. Arthur D. Lee, Rising Sun Baptist Church, Mineral, will deliver the message. The Rising Sun choir and ushers will accompany him. The church is located at 7652 Kentucky Springs Road, Mineral.  Contact Sis. Gertrude for additional information.

 

St. Thomas Baptist Church will celebrate Veteran’s Day at 11 a.m. with veterans in charge of the worship service. A fellowship luncheon will follow the service.  The church is located at 1567 Bumpass Rd., Bumpass.

 

First Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Pulpit Aid Day at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Sherman Hudson of Peach Grove Baptist Church will preach the sermon and will be accompanied by the Peach Grove congregation. The church is located at 102 Meadow Ave., Louisa.

 

Saturday, Nov. 17

The Ladies of Praise Gospel Music ministry will celebrate its first anniversary at Rising Sun Baptist Church at 4 p.m. Groups featured will include The New Golden Jubilee’s, Daily Bread, G2S, Enrique and Anita Shepherd, Watchtower Church Choir, Woman Voices in Praise and Sons of Praz. The church is located at 6829 Fredericks Hall Rd, Mineral.

 

The ladies of Louisa Baptist Church welcome all women to a night created just for women.  The night will begin with delicious food and mingling, followed by a speaker who will motivate you to find yourself and your place.  In addition, there will be several females from the community encouraging you find your spirit and be empowered, just as they have with their own business.  If you are able to donate new or gently used scarves, gloves, hats or coats for those in need, bring them with you on this night. Sunday, Nov. 18

New Line Baptist Church will hold its Men’s and Women’s Day at 3 p.m. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Lewis R. Yancey, pastor of Second Liberty Baptist Church and his congregation of Quinton (New Kent Co.).  The guest choir will be the Mt. New Anna Baptist Church will hold its annual Family and Friends Day starting at 3 p.m. with guest preacher the Rev. Sharon Roberts, pastor of St. Thomas Baptist Church, Bumpass. Music will be provided by the Brooks Family Singers, Philipi Christian Church, Mineral. The church is located at 11639 Cross County Rd., Mineral.
