David W. Jackson II
David W. Jackson II, 33, died suddenly on January 1, 2013, at his home in Sicklerville, New Jersey.
He is formerly of Mineral.
He is the beloved husband of Bernadette (nee Profeta); devoted father of David W. Jackson III, Mia Rose Jackson and Brynn Elizabeth Jackson; loving son of David and Norma (nee Perkinson) Jackson Sr.; grandson of Sue Perkinson; dear brother of Stephanie Gits (Clayton).
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, at Kirk O’Cliff Presbyterian Church, 16420 Monrovia Rd., Mineral.

John H. Fleshman Jr.
John H. Fleshman Jr., 54, of Harrisonburg, previously of Louisa, passed away Friday, December 21, 2012.
He was a member of Louisa Christian Church.
John is preceded in death by his father, John H. Fleshman Sr.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved companion, Diane Stritzinger; her son, Joshua R. McFall; his mother, Wynne L. Fleshman; his son, John C. Fleshman; his daughter, Jessica L. Fleshman; his brothers, Robert W. Fleshman and his wife, Brenda, and Stephen D. Fleshman and wife, Sherry, all of Louisa; and his dear pet dog TY.
A private graveside service, conducted by the Rev. Denny Burnette, was held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26 at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Jimmy V. Foundation, or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

John D. Grubbs
John Duval Grubbs, 82, of Bumpass, died Saturday, December 29, 2012.
Born May 15, 1930 in Louisa County to Robert Irvin and Lucy Otis Grubbs, John grew up in Louisa County and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was involved with the family sawmill business before working for the city of Richmond where he retired in 1990 after 28 years of service. Since his retirement, he spent his years visiting others and spending time in God’s word and enjoying his time with the church’s senior group. The highlight of John’s day was his morning visit from his childhood friend, H.C. Perry. He was a member of Bethany Christian Church since his childhood, being baptized in August 1941.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lucille D. Grubbs; and his parents, Robert Irvin and Lucy Otis Grubbs.
He is survived by three sons, John D. Grubbs (J.D.) Jr. (Beverly), David W. Grubbs (Wanda), and Douglas Grubbs (Jackie) all of Bumpass; seven grandchildren, Amy Shiflett (Daniel), John Grubbs III (Julie), Heather Grubbs, Brian Grubbs, April G. Berry, Kelly G. Jones (Barry), Matthew Grubbs, Douglas Grubbs Jr., Susan Hottle (Steve); nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy G. Bickley, of Canon City, Colorado; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Bethany Christian Church in Bumpass. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Calvin R. Morris
Calvin “Tabby” Randolph Morris, 75, of Louisa, died on December 30, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Morris Sr. and Rachel Morris; a son, Calvin Jr.; and grandson, Jaden Morris.
Calvin leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Shirley P. Morris; four children, Patrice Morris, Victoria Parrish, Zachary Morris and Clayton Morris; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, David Morris, John Morris (Shirley) and Clifford Morris Jr. (Hilda); six sisters, Kathleen Bruce (Shirley), Mattie Hackney, Gladys Shelton-White, Geri Cruel (Harold), Frances Brown (Charles) and Vernell Phillips; a host of relatives and life time friends.
A viewing will be Friday, Jan. 4, from 12 until 7 p.m.
Homegoing services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, at County Line Baptist Church, 4080 County Line Road, Kents Store, with the Rev. Walter H. Jones Sr., officiating and Pastor Joseph Haden Sr., eulogist, of Galilee Baptist Church, Montross.
