A 38-year-old male from Spotsylvania was accidentally shot on the last day of deer hunting season.
Around 10 a.m. on a piece of private property on Rt. 522 the Spotsylvania hunter was shot by his hunting partner from Richmond.
According to Louisa County Sheriff’s Office Major Donald Lowe, the Richmond hunter was dragging a deer out of the woods when he dropped his 12-gauge shotgun. The shotgun discharged, and the shot struck the Spotsylvania hunter in his right forearm.
