Sheriff hires new communication officers

In 2012, the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office welcomed three new faces to its communications department.

The new communication officers, Jessica Schmidt, Will McLaughlin and Carley Peake have completed the basic communication officer academy training and are now in the process of completing field training. They also must completed three days of Virginia Criminal Information Network (VCIN) training as regulated by Virginia Department of State Police.

VCIN terminals give dispatchers access to the Virginia crime offenders network, Department of Motor Vehicle records for drivers license and vehicle registrations, wanted files, as well as direct communication to other law enforcement agencies both nationally and internationally.
