Javanique Burruss signed a letter of intent to attend University of South Carolina upon her graduation from Louisa County High School.
Burruss holds six outdoor track individual state titles; three consecutive long jump records, two in the 110 m high hurdles and one in the triple jump. She is the defending state indoor track champion in the 55m high hurdles and long jump while holding the state records in the indoor 55m high hurdles, long jump and outddoor long jump.
In January 2012 she was ranked number in the nation in the long jump at 20’1″. In December 2012 she was ranked number one in the nation in the 55m high hurdles at 8.15 and sixth in the nation in the triple jump.
Burruss has been named New Balance All-American in the indoor long jump in 2012, New Balance All-American in the outdoor long jump in 2011, New Balace All-American on the 4x100m relay team in 2012, and Junior Olympic All-American in the long jump in middle school. She holds numerous school, district and regional records, has been named Athlete of the Year for the Jefferson District, Free-Lance Star and Daily Progress.
