Louisa County’s Javanique Burruss sets state record in hurdles

Performances by Louisa’s track stars were among the highlights of the VHSL GROUP AAA STATE INDOOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS held February 22- 23 at Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton.

The Louisa County High School girls’ team finished third overall, while the boys’ team came in twelfth.

Girls’ 55 meter Hurdles: Javanique Burruss: 1st place, State Record: 8.18 sec., Monica Mallory: 7th place 9.02

Girls’ 4 x 200m: Louisa: 5th place: 1:49.34 (seasonal best) Monica Mallory, Shadelle Gregory, Kaitlyn Mason, Javanique Burruss
Girls’ 500 meters: Michelle Reynolds: 16th place 1:25.83.
Girls’ Long Jump: Javanique Burruss: 1st place: 18’ 4.5” (seasonal best), Monica Mallory 10th place: 16’ 6.25”
Girls’ Triple Jump: Javanique Burruss: 1st place: 37’ 9” (seasonal best)
Girls’ 55 meter dash: Monica Mallory: 11th place, 7.55, Shadelle Gregory: 16th place, 7.71.
Girls’ Pole Vault: Brianna Braxton: 16th place, 8’ 6”.
