The Louisa County High School baseball season is officially underway. This year’s varsity team will be led by seniors Jerry Carner, Aaron Guill, Kevin Kronander, Ben Lowery and Seth Vincze.

The team is mainly dominated by juniors Christian Buckler, Brandon Carter, Alex Fletcher, Josh Holley, Richard Hinegardner, Nick Morris and Jordan Painting, but has rostered two young players. Sophomore Cameron Stanley and freshman Jake Talley, have earned positions on the team being brought up from the junior varsity squad.

The team played its first scrimmage in Powhatan against Dinwiddie on March 1.

“Generally, we look decent,” junior right fielder Jordan Painting said. “We still have a lot of small sections of the game to fix though.”

“We played well defensively and the players are very hungry to improve,” Coach Kevin Fisher said.

The Lions’ first official nondistrict game will be held at Goochland High School on March 12.
