Dorothy M. Anderson

Dorothy Martin Anderson, 91, formerly of Louisa, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Martha Jefferson Hospital, Charlottesville.

Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Anderson Sims (Luther); her sons, Harry Anderson (Judith) of Wake Forest, North Carolina, and Allen Anderson and Tommy Anderson (Hope), both of Louisa; her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and her brothers, Ralph Martin (Carlene) of Fredericksburg and Monroe Martin, formerly of Louisa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Anderson; her sisters, Annie Trainum and Louise Ely; her brothers, Gus Martin, Richard Martin and William Martin; and her daughter-in-law, Joan Anderson.

A funeral service was held at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Woodward Funeral Home, Louisa. Interment followed in Hillcrest Cemetery, Louisa.

Memorial contributions may be made to Louisa Christian Church, P.O. Box 1344, Louisa, VA 23093.

Tyler J. Firth

Tyler Jay Firth, infant son of Brian Jay Firth and Tristan Rae Tanksley, passed away Tuesday, March 19 at University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Alexis Firth, Brian Firth, Alyssa Moore, Amber Goodwin and Karah Goodwin; his paternal grandparents, David and Laurie Firth; his maternal grandparents, Dale and Tammy Owens; his maternal great-grandmother, Sandra Tanksley; his uncles, Phillip Owens, Stuart Firth and Robert Firth; his aunts, Keri Firth, Emily Owens and Judy Doggett; numerous great-aunts, uncles and cousin as well as Peewee Shifflett and family.

He was predeceased by his maternal great-grandfather, Ronald Tanksley.

A memorial service, conducted by Pastor Clayton Murphy, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, at Woodward Funeral Home, Louisa. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
