Louisa Softball 2-0 at Myrtle Beach tourney

The Louisa County High School Varsity Softball team is doing well at the tournament in Myrtle Beach this week, winning its first two games on Monday and Tuesday.

The Lions competed in their first competition against a team from Brooksville, Ohio on Monday, April 1, winning 14-0.

Louisa had 15 hits, while holding the Brooksville squad hitless, according to Coach Daniel Barrett.  In the field, the Lions were error-free.

McKenzie Riner went four for four, with three RBIs, a home run and two doubles, while teammate Lindsey Talley went three for three, with one RBI and three runs scored.

Brittany Wratchford, who was the winning pitcher for the game, went two for four, had three RBIs and one home run.

In the second match-up on Tuesday, April 2, the Lions went head-to-head against the squad from Johnson Central of Paintsville, Kentucky, winning 3-1.

The Lions managed three runs on seven hits and one error, while holding Johnsonville to one run.

Wratchford went one for three, with one home run and one RBI. Katie Harlow and Katie Chisholm went two for three.

The Lions were 2-0 overall on Wednesdsay, April 3 as they prepared to play Wyoming East of West Virginia.
