Sunday, May 12

Zion Travelers Baptist Church will hold its Mother’s Day celebration at 11 a.m. led by Loretta Strothers. The church is located at 3662 Roundabout Rd., Louisa.

 

Springfield Baptist Church will hold its annual Mother’s Day Program at 11 a.m. Minister Velvet Coleman, associate minister at Mt. Zion First African Baptist Church, Charlottesville, and First Lady of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Columbia, will be the guest speaker. Minister Geraldine Shelton of Mount Olivet Baptist Church, Louisa, will be the worship leader. The church is located at 1042 Zion Road, Gordonsville.

 

Thessalonia Baptist Church will observe Mother’s Day during the 8 a.m. worship service.  Minister Rosemary Price, associate minister, will deliver the message. All mother’s will be honored during the service. The church is located is 278 Old County Rd., Mineral.

 

Monday, May 13

Philippi Christian Church will hold its spring revival Monday, May 13  through Wednesday, May 15. Praiseservice will begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by worship at 8:00 p.m. Guest preachers will include: Pastor Walter Barrett, Mt. Hope Baptist Church on Monday; Pastor Henry Truzy, Thessalonia Baptist Church on Tuesday; Pastor William House, Ebenezer Baptist Church on Wednesday. Special music will be rendered by choirs from the listed churches. The church is located on Rt. 33, Mineral.

 

Sunday, May 16

Rising Sun Baptist Church will host a tent revival Wednesday, May 16 through Friday, May 17 at 6:30   p.m. nightly.  Featured speakers and choirs will include: The Rev. Donnell Comfort and Branch Fork Baptist Church on Wednesday, the Rev. Josh Turner and New Life Community Church on Thursday, and the Rev. Gregory Beechum and Little Zion Baptist Church on Friday. The revival will be held at the entrance of the Industrial Air Park adjacent to Busada Manufacturing.

 

Saturday, May 18

Evergreen Bible Way Church will hold a community outreach tent service at 3 p.m. with guest speaker Pastor Ruben Lewis of Galilee Baptist Church. Refreshments provided and activities for children. The church is located at 1576 Evergreen Rd., Louisa.

New Line Baptist Church will celebrate Family and Friends Day with a cookout from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Celebrations will continue Sunday, May 19 at 3 p.m. with guest speaker Pastor Virginia Farmer of Jerusalem Baptist Church, Louisa. The church is located at 4876 New Line Rd., Gum Spring.

 

Laurel Hill Baptist Church will hold a prayer breakfast at 9:30 a.m. after which the men and women will meet separate for the prayer sessions. The Rev. Kim Fortune, Galilee Baptist Church, Kent Store, will be the speaker for the women and the Rev. Donald King Sr. will be the speaker for the men. The theme is “Being Committed to Being a Committed Christian.” A donation of $10 will be collected from everyone attending breakfast. The church is located at 7652 Kentucky Springs Rd., Mineral.

 

Sunday, May 19

Zion Travelers Baptist Church will celebrated its Family and Friends Day at 11 a.m.  Pastor Bates will deliver the morning message followed by a cookout with games and other activities for all ages. Dress is casual. The church is located at 3662 Roundabout Rd., Louisa.

 

 

Ebenezer Baptist Church Missionary Ministry will present the program “I Am” at 3 p.m. Evangelist Carson Lewis will be the mistress of ceremony with guest speakers including: the Rev. Beulah Minor and the Rev. Evelima Thurston of New Anna Baptist Church; the Rev. Peggy Jackson and the Rev. Costello Jackson of Laurel Hill Baptist Church; the Rev. Gearline Shelton of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church; the Rev. Kim Ware of Rising Mt. Zion Baptist Church; and the Rev Rosemary Price and choir of Thessalonia Baptist Church. The church is located at 109 Ebenezer Rd., Mineral. Wednesday, May 22

Zion Travelers Baptist Church will hold its spring revival Wednesday, May 22 through Friday, May 24 with praise service at 7:30 p.m. followed by worship at 8:00 p.m. nightly. Guest speakers will include: the Rev. Bruce S. Jones of First Baptist Church, Louisa, on Wednesday; the Rev. Mark Brown of New Anna Baptist Church, Mineral, on Thursday; and the Rev. Henry Truzy Jr. of Thessalonia Baptist Church, Mineral, on Friday. The church is located at 3662 Roundabout Rd., Louisa.

 

Laurel Hill Baptist Church will hold a youth revival on Wednesday, May 22 through Friday, May 24 at 7 p.m. nightly. Guest preachers will include Elder William Coleman, Gordonsville, on Wednesday night; the Rev. Reese Washington, Brandy Station, on Thursday night; and Min. Sherrika Greene, Charlottesville, on Friday Night. The church is located at 7652 Kentucky Springs Rd., Mineral.
