The Town of Louisa Police Department is investigating a break-in at Raggedy Sue’s Hen House located in the Sage Building on Jefferson Highway in Louisa.
On Wednesday, July 31, at approximately 2 p.m., a cleaning person at the building noticed a van parked in front of Raggedy Sue’s and assumed someone was picking up a purchase.
Arriving at her shop the next day, Sue Myles noticed that the store had been ransacked and was a mess and contacted the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers who responded to the scene dusted for finger prints and collecting any possible evidence that may have been left behind.
Myles reported that approximately $2,500 worth of merchandise and cash were stolen from the store. Among the items taken were Playstation video games, two video camcorders, a DVD player, a navy blue lamp with a checkered shade, queen size sheet set, Stanley tools, microwave and beach tote bags. All the jewelry was stolen, including included two antique pieces and one Lenox bracelet.
