Charlotte A. Chaffin

Charlotte Ann Chaffin, 61, of Bumpass, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2013, at her residence.

She is predeceased by her parents, Barbara and Charles Nicholas Sr.; and a brother, Charles Nicholas Jr.

She is survived by four children, Andrea Bernadette Botkin, of Richmond, Crystal Gayle Woods, Kevin Burns Chaffin, both of Bumpass, and Larry Brian Chaffin of Castlewood;  three grandchildren; two half-brothers and a step-sister.

A graveside memorial service was held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the Nicholas Family Cemetery, Bumpass.

Virginia L. Hunley 

Mrs. Virginia Lee Hunley 77, of Richmond, formerly of Louisa, passed from this life to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Saturday, August 10, 2013, at the Hospice of Virginia Inpatient Unit at Retreat Hospital in Richmond.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, George H. Hunley Sr.; three daughters, and one son,  Julia Gregory (Carl), Bonnie Fortune (Craig), George Hunley II (Christi), and Diana Hunley (Chris Morris). She was blessed in life with a wealth of grandchildren, Troy, Eric, Brad, and Kyle Gregory; Megan Barlow and Joseph Smith; Amber and John Hunley, George III, Joshua, and Nathanael Hunley, Ryan, Paige and Jacob Perkins.  She was also the proud great-grandmother of Noah Hunley. She is survived by her sisters, Lucille Splane, Barbara Anthony, Lucy Bishop and Dorothy Howell; and her brothers, Lynn Jr. and Harry Anthony.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia Faye Hunley; her parents, Thomas Linwood and Viola Lee (Foster) Anthony; her sisters, Gladys Cleary, Edith Hochfelder and Margaret Claytor; and her brother, Johnny Anthony.

A memorial service, conducted by the Revs. George H. Hunley II, Douglas M. Wade, and H. Wade Stanley will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17 at the Huntington Community Fellowship Church of the Nazarene, 147 Shortmans Rd., Mineral.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Virginia (www.americanhospice.com), the Neuropathy Association (www.neuropathy.org), Nazarene Compassionate Ministries or Nazarene Disaster Relief (www.nazarene.org).
