Management at local Allstate insurance agency L. Payton & Associates have given customers another reason to feel like they are in good hands.
The agency installed a drive-through access window at their Mineral business location on Monday, Aug. 5. Borrowing a design used frequently by banks and restaurants, the new accessory allows clients to accomplish some of the simpler tasks in a more efficient fashion.
“We just use it for customers to drive through to make a payment or to drop of a document,” agency principal Lois Payton said. “We wouldn’t do any real work through the window. It’s for convenience for our clients. Whether it’s bad weather or they’re in a hurry, they don’t even have to get out of their car to make their payment.
Payton said that the company had considered installing the drive-thru window for the past four years, but recently decided that the time was right. The addition is not the only construction planned. Payton said they hope to have a roof over the window and a paved road for the drive-thru complete in the next year or so, along with a directory in front of the office.
“So, there’s a little more construction to be done, but it’s operational,” Payton said. “It’s a new edge for us, something that no one else has, something that sets us apart. You’re always looking for that edge.”
Payton said she believes the window gives management the chance to operate in a more efficient fashion as well, creating a win-win situation between themselves and customers.
