Saturday, Aug. 24

Kingdom United Ministries will be host a youth summit entitled “Empowering a Generation” from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.  In this season, the enemy desires to defeat youth with thoughts of suicide, addiction and the lack of discipline. This summit is designed to encourage youth with the Word of God. The youth will enjoy a day of fun, food and fellowship, along with the powerful Word of God and prayer. Shady Grove Baptist Church will celebrate its ushers 78th anniversary at 3 p.m. The special guest will be Men on a Mission gospel singers and the Shady Grove Men’s Chorus. The church is located at 3384 Oakland Church Rd., Gum Spring.

 

New Anna Baptist Church will hold an appreciation service at 2 p.m. recognizing Clarice Brown, Nannie Bates, Jeanette Smith, Thelma Green and Rosa Brown. The Rev. Terry Jones, First Baptist Church in Louisa, will preach and the Brooks Family Singers will render the music. The program theme will be Recognition of Love. Sunday, Aug. 25

New Line Baptist Church will celebrate Homecoming during its morning service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor J.R. Coney preaching followed by lunch.  The afternoon service will begin with prayer and praise at 2:30 p.m. with guest preacher, the Rev. Henry Truzy, pastor of Thessalonians Baptist Church, Mineral. He will be accompanied by his choir and ushers. The church is located at 4876 New Line Rd., Gum Spring.

 

Mt. Garland Baptist Church will celebrate Homecoming at 11 a.m. with the message being delivered by the Rev. Dwain Cosby followed by lunch.  Revival services will begin at 3 p.m. with the guest speaker, the Rev. Dr. A. Lincoln James, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, Richmond. He will be accompanied by his choir and congregation.  Revival services will continue Monday, Aug. 26 through Friday, Aug. 30 with prayer and praise service at 7:30 p.m. and worship service at 8:00 p.m. nightly. Guest speakers will  include: the Rev. Roger E. Braxton, Eagle Baptist Church, Louisa, on Monday; the Rev. Henry Truzy, Thessalonian Baptist Church, Mineral, on Tuesday; the Rev. Cavell Phillips, Richmond, on Wednesday; the Rev. Arthur Lee, Rising Sun Baptist Church, Mineral, on Thursday;and the Rev. Monroe Smith, Mt. Hope Baptist Church, Bumpass, on Friday. Peach Grove Baptist Church will celebrate its Homecoming during its 11:30 a.m. worship service with Pastor Sherman Hudson delivering the message followed by lunch. The Rev. Louis A. Collins III of Great Hope Baptist Church, Richmond, will be the guest preacher for the 3 p.m. service. The church is located at 93 Peach Grove rd., Louisa.

 

Mt. Zion Baptist Church will observe Homecoming during its 11 a.m. worship with Pastor Ricardo Haynes. The Rev. Dr. Patrick Jones, Bethany Baptist Church, will be the guest at the 2:30 p.m. service. The church is located at 3909 Holly Grove Rd., Bumpass.

 

Zion Travelers Baptist Church will observe Homecoming with Pastor Austin Bates delivering the 11 a.m. message followed by lunch. Music will be rendered by the men’s chorus. The afternoon service will welcome the Rev. Ruben Lewis of Galilee Baptist Church. The church is located at 3662 Roundabout Rd., Louisa.

 

Monday, Aug. 26

New Line Baptist Church will hold revival services Monday, Aug. 26 through Friday, Aug. 30 starting at 7:30 nightly. The revivalist will be the Rev. Alex Shelley, Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, on Tuesday and the Rev. Gregory Washington, St. Mark Baptist Church, on Wednesday. Each minister will be accompanied by his choir, ushers and congregation. The church is located at 3909 Holly Grove Rd., Bumpass.

 

Zion Travelers Baptist Church will hold revival Monday, Aug. 26 through Friday, Aug. 30 with prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and worship at 8:00 p.m. nightly. The Rev.
