Saturday is the inaugural Lake Anna Wine Festival, which will be held in the Cutalong development in Wares Crossroads. The event will feature Virginia wineries, food vendors, crafters, Lake Anna and wine- related vendors and community service groups, as well as activities for the children.
“We are hoping to make this an annual event that will draw more people to the Lake Anna area for a special activity,” Ed Blount, wine festival coordinator said. “We chose September because it is right after the Labor Day holiday and there is still nice weather to draw people to the community.”
Headlining the musical entertainment is the Pat McGee Band, a Richmond based rock band that has been performing for nearly two decades. McGee is familiar with the Lake Anna area, having learned to wake board locally several years ago.
McGee wrote his first song in 1994 and recorded his first CD in 1995 and continues to evolve with each new production. McGee will take the stage in the afternoon.
