Get what you need to meet all your car’s needs

Zion Crossroads has come a long way over the past few years. Once just a jump off point for travelers and truckers along I-64, the area has become a beehive of activity.

Advance Auto Parts opened for business on August 16 in Zion Crossroads. The store employs a staff of 10 persons ranging from management, salespersons and delivery drivers.

Businesses are capitalizing on the growth in the area and trying to meet the needs of consumers, Advance Auto Parts included.

Advance Auto Parts, which opened on Aug. 16, is establishing nearly 200 stores across the country in 39 states this year as part of the company’s expansion plan. The business is a leading automotive aftermarket retailer of parts, batteries, accessories and maintenance items.

Company officials said they chose the Zion Crossroads location because it is convenient to where their customers live and shop, as well as the garages where they take their vehicles for repair, according to company spokesman Shelly Whitaker.

“It’s one of the fastest growing areas in Central Virginia, both from a retail perspective and a homeowner’s perspective,” Barry Richards, general manager of Advance Auto Parts said.

The approximately 6000-square-foot retail store, which fronts Rt. 15, is a welcome addition by residents in the area, according to Richards, who said that customers tell him almost every day that they are glad that the business is there.

Richards is pleased with the foot traffic and the warm reception by customers, most of whom are from the Louisa, Fluvanna and eastern Charlottesville areas.
