No closure for K & K Towing

It has been more than seven months since K & K Towing’s buildings burned in Mineral and the company was forced to go out of business.

On Tuesday, February 26, at approximately 2:14 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a “suspicious” structural fire at the business.

“We didn’t have any insurance for any of our property, so we did not have any money to rebuild,” Towanda Tompkins, former owner of K & K Towing said.

She believes authorities have closed the case, stating they could not pinpoint the fire directly to anyone. She said the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) did not think race was a factor.
