A handicapped bus carrying a driver, aide and one student was involved in an accident  in Louisa County on Monday afternoon at approximately 3:30 p.m., in the 1400 block of Bethany Church Road, approximately one-half mile north of Lazy Acres Road.

Fire units that arrived on scene were advised there were two patients that needed to be examined. Virginia State Police Sgt. Thomas Molnar said the driver, Christina E. Burruss, 69, of Beaverdam, was wearing her seatbelt and suffered minor injuries. Both patients were staff members of Louisa County Public Schools (LCPS) and refused medical attention.  The eight-year-old student was also uninjured.

According to Molnar, the 2004 International school bus ran off the right side of the roadway, over corrected and struck an embankment.
