      Preschool Storytime is held at the Louisa County Public Library each Thursday at 10:30 a.m.  The program is designed for children ages 3  through 5 and includes fun time of stories, songs, flannel boards and learning.

      B.Y.O.C. – Bring Your Own Craft. Do you knit, bead, make rugs, hand stitch or do any kind of handcraft? Come to share ideas, show off your work and get another crafter’s eye and perception. Chat and meet your neighbors while you work on your craft. Bring any project you’re working on, or come just to be inspired. All ages and levels of experience welcome. Call or visit the library for details. Meets every Wednesday at 2 p.m.

      2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

      The Louisa County AARP Chapter #3049 will hold its monthly meeting at 2 p.m. in the second floor conference room of the Louisa County Administration Building.  The guests will be Linda and Jim Salisbury of Tabby House, whose company is an author’s guide to producing a marketable book.  Linda is the author of the Bailey Fish adventure series for children ages eight and up.  Refreshments will be served.

    3. Strength training session
      7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      Louisa Baptist Church has added a strength training session on Thursday nights at 7 p.m. Have a yoga mat, bring it along, if not, the church has extras.  Exercise not only improves your physical health, it improves a person’s emotional state and increases energy levels.  Remember to consult adoctor before starting any new exercise program.  All ladies in the community are welcome and there is no cost associated with this outing.

    1. Golden Age Club

      The Golden Age Club will at the Betty Queen Center for a presentation by Cindy Moore on recycling. Learn all about trash and how to help keep Louisa clean. The group will meet for lunch at Los Tres Patrillos Mexican Restaurant, 406 E. Main Street, Louisa, at 11:30 a.m.

      8:30 am – 1:30 pm

      The American Red Cross, assisted  by the Sacred Hearts Council of the Knights of Columbus, will hold a blood drive from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the Verbeke Hall of St. Jude Catholic Church, 1937 Davis Highway, halfway between Louisa and Mineral on Route 22.  For more information, contact Larry Fridley at (540) 894-8375, or email landkfridley@gmail.com to make an appointment.  Drop-ins welcome.
