      The American Red Cross, assisted  by the Sacred Hearts Council of the Knights of Columbus, will hold a blood drive from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the Verbeke Hall of St. Jude Catholic Church, 1937 Davis Highway, halfway between Louisa and Mineral on Route 22.  For more information, contact Larry Fridley at (540) 894-8375, or email landkfridley@gmail.com to make an appointment.  Drop-ins welcome.

    3. Banquet and fashion show scholarship fundraiser
      5:00 pm – 9:00 pm

      Join the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) from 5 until 9 p.m. at the Betty J. Queen Intergenerational Center for a banquet and fashion show scholarship fundraiser for scholarships for high school seniors, honoring of three World War II vets and special guest speaker Gloria Pope.       Lake Anna Casino Night will be held at Lake Anna Winery starting at 6 p.m. Advance tickets are $50 and available at Virginia Community Bank, NYT&E, Dockside Realty, Lake Anna Food Lion, Louisa Title and Lake Anna Winery. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Louisa Humane Society.

      Baby Time is held at the Louisa County Public Library each Thrusday at 10:20 a.m.  The program is designed for children ages 2 and younger.

      Preschool Storytime is held at the Louisa County Public Library each Thursday at 10:30 a.m.  The program is designed for children ages 3  through 5 and includes fun time of stories, songs, flannel boards and learning.

    3. Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
      5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper will begin at 5 p.m. in the parish hall of Church of the Incarnation, 102 Louisa Avenue, Mineral. In addition to pancakes, bacon, sausage, apples, juice, coffee and tea will be served. There is no cost, but donations will be accepted. For more information, call the Rev. Chat and meet your neighbors while you work on your craft. Bring any project you’re working on, or come just to be inspired. All ages and levels of experience welcome.
