    1. NARFE meeting
      11:30 am – 1:00 pm

      NARFE will meet at 11:30 a.m. at the Michie House near the Sergeant Museum in Louisa with lunch available.  All active and retired federal employees and their guests are welcome. Meetings are usually held at Roma’s in Louisa on the third Thursday at 11:30 a.m. For more details, contact Louisa NARFE President Kate Killham at killham.kate@gmail.com.

    2. Community outreach lunch
      12:00 pm – 2:00 pm

      Servants of Christ Baptist Church will be host a free community outreach lunch at noon. Participants will enjoy turkey/ham sandwiches, chips, cookies and a drink. The church is located at 60 Sommerfield Drive, Zion Crossroads, Rt. 15N, next to Virginia Credit Union and across from Spring Creek.

    3. American Legion Post 1116 meeting
      7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      The Golden Age Club planning committee will meet at 10 a.m. in the great room at the Betty Queen Center to plan the upcoming winter, spring and summer activities. All interested members are welcome.

    1. Car wash and yard sale
      8:00 am – 2:00 pm

      The Millennium Movers, the Performing Arts 2000 dance show team, will hold a car wash and yard sale from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Kenny’s Central Tire & Auto on Main Street in Louisa.  The dance team is fundraising for upcoming dance competitions.

    2. Handcart Pioneer Food Drive
      8:00 am – 12:00 pm

      The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints will participate in the Handcart Pioneer Food Drive. Residents in the towns of Louisa and Mineral who would like to participate should place non-perishable food on the porch with the flyer previously distributed. Members of the church will come by to pick up the donation for the Louisa Community Cupboard. For more information, contact Steve Swarthout at (804) 920-5547.

      Handcart Pioneer Food Drive
    3. Evan Adams Memorial Benefit Ride
      9:00 am – 6:00 pm

      The third annual Evan Adams Memorial Benefit Ride will begin registration at 9 a.m. at Court Cafe & Pub and the Blue Knights VA III and VA XXMC. This year’s ride will be for Leland Crickenberger who has been diagnosed with neurogenic bladder syndrome and kidney reflux. The cost is $20 per bike, $5 per passenger.       Evan Adams Memorial Benefit Ride
    4. Child Seat Check Station
      10:00 am – 2:00 pm

      The Louisa County Sheriff’s office, in coordination with the Transportation Safety Commission, will offer a free Child Seat Check Station from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Zion Crossroads Walmart,  164 Camp Creek Parkway, Gordonsville.  Certified technicians will be available to provide free hands-on child safety seat inspections and advice.  For more information, contact (540) 223-8348.  Buckle up Virginia!

    5. Dance and soccer clinics
      10:00 am – 12:30 pm

      Louisa Baptist Church will be provide both dance and soccer clinics for children ages 7 and older from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. for at no charge.  The dance instruction will include hip-hop, jazz and ballet.  Those attending the soccer clinic should bring any soccer gear they may have, such as shin guards and cleats.  For more information, contact the church office at (540) 967-1364.  The church is located at 305 E.     6. Jimmy Fortune in concert
      4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

      Jimmy Fortune, of Statler Brothers fame, will perform at the Louisa Arts Center for a 4:00 and 7:30 p.m. concert. For tickets, visit louisaarts.org.
