    24 colleges and universities will participate in Virginia Private College Week, Monday, July 28 – Saturday, August 2, hosted by the Council for Independent Colleges in Virginia (CICV). By visiting at least three institutions during the week, prospective students will receive three application fee waivers to apply to any participating CICV college for free. The Belmont Club of Women recently awarded four $1,000 scholarships to local area graduating seniors.  The winners are  Hannah Hall for Louisa County High School, Tanner Kelson for Orange County High School, Hollie Chenault for Spotsylvania County High School, and Claire Carpenter for the Evelyn Ross Scholarship.
