Louisa’s Betty J. Queen Intergenerational Center has become a hub of outdoor activity and community connection for county residents and visitors. The facility, located on Industrial Drive off Rt. 22 between the town of Mineral and the town of Louisa, has expanded in recent years to provide a diverse array of options for folks to enjoy recreation. The Louisa County Aquatic Facility located at the site offers three pools-one Olympic-sized, one activity pool, and one wading pool, featuring a mushroom fountain. Open throughout the summer, the pool is also the home of the Louisa Gators Swim Team. The center also features a skate park, with half-pipes, ramps and rails for skateboarders, and a nine-hole disc golf course. At the head of the walking trail is a fitness station, located next to an expansive two-phase playground with elements for children of all ages. Inside of the center is a gym with a full-sized basketball court and a community meeting room, used for many local group events. For more information, visit www.lcpr.info.
