Annual Ruritan and Scouts BBQ dinner

The Louisa County Ruritan Club is sponsoring its spring barbecued chicken fundraiser on Friday, April 26.  The carry out dinner includes a half barbecued chicken, baked beans, potato salad, roll and dessert for $8 a meal.  Dinners may be picked up between 4:00 and 6:30 p.m. at the rear of the fire hall, located at 201 E. First Street in the town of Mineral.

Louisa Boy Scout Troop 3, Mineral Boy Scout Troop 183 and Cub Scout Pack 183 are the beneficiaries of the fundraiser and each group will receive $3 of each dinner members of the individual troops sell.  The Ruritan Club will use its profits for various youth activities such as scholarships, supporting Boys and Girls State, sponsoring the Cub Scout troop and other community projects.

Tickets are available by contacting James Duerson at (540) 894-4985 or emailing him at or from any Boy Scout or Cub Scout member.  All tickets must be reserved no later than Sunday, April 21.  This year, the Louisa Ruritan club is able to accept credit cards as a payment option and dinners can be paid for at the time of pick up if you choose to use a credit or debit card.
