Blinding headlights from an oncoming vehicle caused a Louisa County ambulance to crash and overturn on Bibb Store Road Thursday morning.

Two medics inside the ambulance were transported, out of an abundance of caution, to UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville for evaluation,  a state police spokesperson said. No patients were aboard the ambulance at the time of the accident.
The single-vehicle crash occurred at about 5:10 a.m. about one mile south of Panamint Woods Road. State police say the northbound ambulance ran off the right side of the road and struck an embankment before overturning.
The crash remains under investigation, and the road was closed for several hours following the incident.
