Saturday, April 27

Galilee Baptist Church will hold an installation service to call Elder Ruben Lewis Jr. as pastor at 4 p.m. The church is located at 3598 Three Notch Rd., Kents Store. For more information, call (434) 589-8817.


St. Thomas Baptist Church will hold its annual women’s prayer breakfast from 9:00 until 9:45 a.m. followed by the worship service. The Rev. Virginia Farmer will lead in devotions and the Rev. Costilla Jackson, the Rev. Peggy Jackson, Evangelist Jessie Hooker and the Rev. Gloria Coles will lead in prayers. The Rev. Panthier Whiting, youth minister at Foster Creek Baptist Church will deliver the word. The church is located at 1567 Bumpass Rd., Bumpass.


Laurel Hill Baptist Church will hold a musical celebration for the ninth anniversary of its pastor, the Rev. Barry Carpenter. The devotional service will begin at 2:30 p.m. and the musical celebration will follow at 3:00 p.m. Featured guests will include: Sons of Praise, Gospel Laborers, Brooks Singers, Chosen and New Life Temple of Deliverance. Sunday, April 28

Wayland Baptist Church will celebrate Women’s Day at 2:30 p.m. in white and gold with the theme “Paths to Christian Living.” Serving as guest speakers will be Pastor Peggy Brice of Blue Run Baptist Church addressing Christian Love; Asst. Pastor Deborah Banks of Way of the Cross Baptist Church speaking on Gaining Spiritual Wisdom and Knowledge; Vanessa Pendleton of Watchtower Baptist Church speaking on Raising Christian Children in Today’s Society; and Linda Collins of Mt. Gilliam New Site Baptist Church will address How to Count Your Blessings and Be Thankful. The Ladies of Praise, of Rising Sun Baptist Church, will render the music. Dinner will be served following the morning worship service at approximately 1 p.m. The church is located at 1228 Oakland Rd., Louisa.


Laurel Hill Baptist Church will celebrate the ninth anniversary of its pastor, the Rev. Barry Carpenter. The morning service will begin with devotions at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Phyllis Williams, associate minister of White Oak Run Baptist Church, Rapidan, as the morning speaker.  The Rev. Jacob Phillips, pastor of White Oak Run Baptist Church, will be the speaker for the 3 p.m. evening service. The church is located at 7652 Kentucky Springs R., Mineral.


Ebenezer Baptist Church’s senior choir will celebrate its 70th anniversary at 3 p.m. The church is located at 109 Ebenezer Rd., Mineral.


Mt. Garland Baptist Church Family will host “One Hundred Deacons Marching to Zion” at 3 p.m. and is sponsored by Church Mother, Deaconess  Lucille Moody.   Each year Moody brainstorms for fundraisers and this year’s vision is to have all area deacons come together.  The highlight of the evening will be St. Thomas Baptist Church Men’s Chorus in concert. “Monumental,” a film by Kirk Cameron, will be shown at 7 p.m. at the Louisa Arts Center.  Something’s very wrong in America.  In this documentary, Cameron seeks to find where we went wrong by rediscovering the foundational truths that made America great.  Rated PG.  Tickets are free and available at the Louisa Arts Center box office (540) 967-2200 and (540) 894-3675.  Seating is limited.  The film is sponsored by the Louisa National Day of Prayer Task Force.

Temple of Deliverance, HCG will hold its women’s conference “Endeavoring to Keep the Unity” starting at 9:30 a.m. Scheduled speakers include Jennifer Brown of Refuge Temple COOLJC, Washington DC, speaking on One Hope:  A Singles’ Workshop; Territa Amos, Refuge Temple COOLJC, Washington, DC, speaking on One Faith:  Trusting God Through Separation, Divorce, Single Parenthood and Widowhood; Alice Christmas of First Bibleway Church, Louisa, speaking on One Flesh: A Marriage Workshop; Celestine Peters of Greater Refuge COOLJC, Richmond, speaking on Endeavoring to Keep the Unity. Laurel Hill Baptist Church will hold an ordination service for Ministers Costello Jackson and Alice Morgan-Brown at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Divine Baptist Church will celebrate its 21st  annual Family and Friends Day at 3 p.m. Evangelist Laverne Morris of Second Union Baptist Church, Goochland, will be the guest speaker and a church choir will render the music. Light refreshments will be served prior to the program.


Union Baptist Church will hold its Men and Women’s Day at 3 p.m. Minister Miranda Williams, associate minister of First Baptist Church Denwood, Brandywine, Maryland, will be the guest minister. Zion Union Baptist Church Men’s Chorus of North Garden, will render the music. The theme is “ Equipping Men and Women for the Work of the Ministry.” The church is located at 1546 Vawter Corner Rd,. Louisa.


The Ladies of Praise, of Louisa, will appear at Union Grove Baptist Church, 471 Black Cat Rd., Keswick, along with other musical guests, motivational speaker and dancers from 3 until 5 p.m.

Springfield Baptist Church, will hold its annual spring revival Wednesday, May 8 through Friday, May 10. Prayer and praise will begin at 7:30 p.m. and worship service at 8:00 p.m.  Guest ministers will include:  Minister Tyrone McCowin of Kingdom United Ministries, of Louisa, on Wednesday; Minister Justin House of Evergreen Baptist Church, Palmyra, on Thursday; Minister Michael Crawley of Foster Creek Baptist Church, Louisa, on Friday.  Each minister will be accompanied by their choir and ushers.
