Sunday, Oct. 6

Mechanicsville Baptist Church will celebrate its 185th Homecoming during its combined 11 a.m. worship service.  Lunch will follow.  MBC has been evidence of God’s presence in the community since 1828. The church is located at 10200 Louisa Rd., Gordonsville.


Thessalonia Baptist Church will observe Missionary Day at 3 p.m.  The Rev. Loretta Strothers, of Swift Ford Baptist Church, Madison, will be the guest evangelist. She will be accompanied by her choir. The church is located at 278 Old County Rd., Mineral.


Bethany Christian Church will hold a nightly seminar “You are not an accident; Refuting the destructive lie of evolution,” Sunday, Oct. 6 through Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. Renowned speaker Ken Henderson, known as “The Dinosaur Man,” is the executive director of Teen Mission USA and is an expert in fossils, science and the Bible. Saturday, Oct. 12

Rev. Beulah O. Minor will be ordained at 3 p.m. at New Anna Baptist Church under the pastorship of the Rev. Mark K. Brown. The guest preacher will be Pastor Henry K. Truzy, of Thessalonian Baptist Church, Mineral. He will be accompanied by his choir and congregation. The church is located at 11639 Cross County Rd., Mineral.


Temple of Deliverance, HCG will celebrate its mass choir anniversary at 6 p.m. with special guest Pastor Gales, of God’s Living Word Church, Dumfries.  He will be accompanied by his congregation. The church is located at 5756 Zachary Taylor Hwy., Mineral.


Galilee Baptist Church Men’s Chorus will celebrate its 32nd anniversary at 5 p.m. The guest singers will be The Cloverdale Baptist Church Men’s Chorus.  The church is located at 3598 Three Notch Rd., Kents Store.

Standing On The Promises Of God Church will celebrate its annual Deacon And Deaconess Day at 3 p.m. The Rev. Roger Braxton, pastor of Eagle Baptist Church in Louisa, will be the guest preacher. Monday, Oct. 14
