Preschool Read & Rhyme Time

Preschool Read & Rhyme Time is a fun program highlighting early literacy skills. Enjoy short books, rhymes, finger plays, a flannel story, and songs using shakers and rhythm instruments each Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Designed for ages 2 through 5 with an accompanying adult or caregiver. Frugal Farmstead

Experience “a day in the life” at the Heritage Farm with the Frugal Farmstead. Using tips from 19th Century literature such as The Virginia Housewife, costumed interpreters engage visitors in performing daily life skills using tools and techniques of the time period. Seasonal activities may include sewing, spinning, weaving, gardening, cooking, laundry and other household chores. The Frugal Farmstead program is held at Heritage Farm, beside the Sargeant Museum at 214 Fredericksburg Ave., Louisa. This free program follows an open-house setting from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Louisa Library, 881 Davis Hwy., Mineral, will host game time from 1:30 until 3:30 p.m. Board games and refreshments will be provided. Play with the games provided or bring your favorite games to share. All ages welcome.

Tastings Cookbook Club
Dec 18 @ 5:30 pm

The Tastings Cookbook Club will meet at the Louisa Library, 881 Davis Hwy., Mineral, at 5:30 p.m. with the theme, desserts. Every month, a theme is picked and a selection of cookbooks are ready to be checked out. Participants select a book and prepare a recipe from that cookbook, then the group gathers to share a potluck meal and prepared recipes.
